Aando best character, hands down. Man enters game that killed his son to find out what the game is about. Modifies gun so it can't be used to hurt offensively, rather hurts the user. He faked his death to accelerate the game. And he has a headful of hair for a geezer. What a baller.
Tatsuya Fujiwara is the KING of death game psychological movies. He was in the original Battle Royale, then Death Note, then Kaiji and now this. He OWNES this genre.
So basically he didn't throw the money away because of the foundation's experiment... He tossed it due to heartbreak 🥴 A million dollars would have bought Yuki a lot of therapy and fun time.
This film has so many similarities to the Danganronpa video games. It’s pretty comical. Since they came out around the same time, I assume it’s just coincidental.
This film is as adaptation of a 2007 Japanese novel of the same name. It is more probable that the creation of Danganronpa was inspired by the same 2007 novel.
@Soft Tofu I’m not talking about the ‘death game’ genre, I mean the actual storyline & murder methods/circumstances. Squid Games for example is the same genre but it’s nothing like Danganronpa at all
As soon as I saw that Shoko mentioned the project I was like "Yeah, she knew about this from the start, hasn't she?" Also, major props to Haruka Ayase for being able to go from sweet and innocent to cold and stoic in an instant after the reveal. It's almost like she turned into a totally different character.
@@sighmon5640 I wouldn't say she's the Junko of the game since she answers to a higher authority and obeys it, while Junko follows the best of her own messed up drum. That and while it's not explicit, it's hinted that she has at least a small level of compassion. It's just that business is business.
So Many similarities to Agatha Christie's "Then There were None". Though the story and premise are entirely different, the inspirations are pretty evident but overall, this sounds like a great movie.
Reminds me of every other movie/show like this. Clue, 13, Battle Royale, The Condemned, Alice in Borderlands, Squid Game, the list goes on and on. But the similarities to Clue make it less suspenseful, and more funny.
Throwing the money away isn't even a gesture, your just making all the loss worthless, you own time harder... I think they misunderstand what a coward is, he's cautious at best, not cowardly.
Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors got hooked on her books in Middle School. Probably not even allowed to read at that age anymore but man can that lady engage you into a story!!
Went to middle school around 2001 to 2003-ish, and we also read Agatha Christie back then! Both as part of the curriculum and for fun -- one teacher would read to us from it if we got our work done early in her class as a treat.
I think almost everything could have been avoided if they just checked every box after the first death. Even if they found the gun they could inspect it to find that it wasn't shot. This would conclude that none of the participates are responsible. Would this negate future murders? No. However there would be more cooperation if people wouldn't be so quick to panic. Also finding out what everyone has as a weapon would make it extremely hard to get away with any kind of future murder.
I find it funny how the old man was pretending to be dead in the room where his friend was fighting for his life and didn't help. Then they both casually walk away together
Well, Yuki wouldn’t be able to walk because suxamethonium isn’t a muscle relaxer, it’s a paralytic that’s used during surgery. So my man would’ve been frozen like a popsicle.
"yuki throw the bag of money away" why? --' that's just stupidity if you don't want that money cz it's "dirty" you can donate it or something ... and the problem is once he will get home and remember that he is broke asf he will regret it lmao
(Danganronpa) Is the anime's name if anyone is curious, not sure if this movie can out before it, or the anime but one of the two is inspired after the other.
I like Yuki. Honestly those people just have a good heart. But yeah you can always come up with that coward excuse. As if everyone is just nice because they dont have the "balls" to be sh1theads.
Just a suggestion to the channel try using the same names of characters as shown in intro...its get too much confusing when there are too many characters in a movie and their surname is used during movie narration and first name in intro... And when I checked on wiki infact there was no character named Biyouro!
I hate when movies about death games end with the winner throwing the money away. It’s so unrealistic and stupid that it kinda ruins the entire movie the same way it would if the character just suddenly woke up and realized it was all just a dream. 😒

I watch a movie like this some time ago but the ending of the movie was a little different and very mind blowing I need to search it cause I don’t remember the title
How does everyone watch these movies in English anytime I see one of these recaps of an awesome sounding Asian movie since Hollyweird movies tend to be...lacking these days I cant find them on any streaming service or blu ray/DVD???

yeah him and yuki. Dream Team.
But wheres his money?... doesnt make sence with all the cctv around
Somehow spoiled a spoiler
if it was hollywood he would've been jason statham or sumth.
I agree.
Unless it's used to screw the system/company over, there is no good reason for throwing the money away.

only reason is cuz its a movie and it looked "cool"
that's why it's a movie , coz it's really wouldn't happen in reality..
don't worry, he later went back for it after thinking twice what you just said. it only wasn't in the film as throwing the money looked noble.

I was thinking the same thing when I heard people kill and vote a person and last 2 remaining win

From the curfew, to the boxes, and even not being able to hear anything through the bedrooms
I was going to comment the same thing

I remember watching this a long time ago but forgot how it ends. Good to see this recap.
Is this guy japans most famous actor or something ive seen him in so many japanese movies
Yes
I remember this actor too. He was in Battle Royale.
Yes, this guy has been through hard times 😂 Battle Royale, Death Note, etc.
Man, watching these feels like listening to a visual and audio short story. I wonder what other short story will movie recaps come up next.

I'll have to check that one out
I only read that book once about 15 years ago when i was in high school. I still sometimes think about it randomly lol

Why not say what the movie is called or write it in the description?
kind of like kaji, same main character, similar in losing/giving up all money in the end of every movie

"House on Haunted Hill" feel from the 1950's & the remake in the early 2000s.
Throwing the money away at the end was such a pointless, yet, honourable move.

Why does this channel never credit the movie at the very least by giving the movie’s name?
What’s the movie called?
This guy always ended up not having the winning money. 🤣
