Thank you for the advice at the end (turning the SSD to "online")! That's exactly what I needed to get it working after completing the Samsung Data Migration but not being able to boot from the SSD.
Yes, that helped tremendously. That last step seemed so simple, yet not knowing how to turn back online caused me to loose a few hours of my day. Thanks again. I just want to add something that is very important in setting up the new drive. When you go to clone it, you have an opportunity to make the new drive partitions bigger or smaller than the original ones. In my case, my C drive was originally 160 GB and my d was 790 or so. I was able to drag the little blue line on the destination drive to the right, and now my C partition on the new drive is around 600 GB. I hope this helps someone.
Hi there, I followed your advice, up to the end where you turned the SSD to online using the Disk Management tool. At this stage my computer is still booting from the Windows 10 installation on the original old drive. How do I ensure that my machine will only boot from the new SSD and how do I safely empty my old drive so I can use it for storing files (and not contain the Windows OS)?
@@KnowledgeSharingTech I worked for hours and cloned my drive several times. Turns out all I needed to do was the disk management portion. No other video I saw had that step.
I get the stopcode 0xc000021a Blue Screen of Death when I boot from the SSD after the migration. Endless loop with not way out but the Bios. Any ideas?
I don’t know if I did a wrong I was cloning SSD to m.2 after it’s shut down I just turned on the computer I was able to boot to the clone and I was able to see the original hard drive and the letter was C so I am turn the clone online and gave it the D letter so now I have 2 Local drives C and D how do I change the clone to C and have one local drive
@@nitram419 i don't remember what I did but you can turn off your computer take the main and make the pc boot to the clone should be assigned the c by default if you would like to delete the main either use a enclosure or plug it in while its on so you can see what letter it gets assigned
Hi there, I followed your instructions but unfortunately doing so switch what had been the copied C drive to E. I was given a warning that doing so would break paths relying on the C Drive. I am now unable to get my computer to boot from the copied C drive, now E drive, because the drive drive was automatically relabeled. Even though in bios I am selecting the SSD as the boot drive my files are being pulled from the original Cdrive on the mechanical hard drive. My end goal is to be operating off the fully cloned SSD so i may wipe the original mechanical hard drive and use that for file storage of pictures and videos. I would really appreciate some help as i've been at this for about 3 days and thought it would take an afternoon.
Maybe you have a defective SSD? You can also try to use Macrium reflect free to narrow down the cause of the problem, look at this video that shows you how to use Macrium reflect: th-cam.com/video/Vu0MhTN-wFc/w-d-xo.html

You need to change the boot order in your bios.
Great it worked🙌🏻
6:07 it would have been great if you told us how to do that as well.

Does the source drive need to be Samsung?
Thank you

Kindly see my (long) post in the comments. Best wishes to you, good neighbour.
Hello, thanks for your video. Please how can I clone Samsung SSD Pm871 256gb to CMS 1TB Mini mSATA SSD Drive SATA III? thanks

Did I mess it up by not taking off the original ssd before turning on The clone online
I'm about to attempt the same as you. Q: Did you find out how to avoid the problem that you described above?

Sorry to hear that, if Samsung Data Migration is not working for you, use Macrium reflect free: th-cam.com/video/Vu0MhTN-wFc/w-d-xo.html
Everytime i start the data migration, after 6 seconds it just crashes and the ssd goes offline. Any suggestions?
