    Hey great video, can you explain how to get the fee waived after obtaining the card? Thanks!

    Is this really ALL free? I’m joining the navy about to be shipped & dont yet understand clearly amex, what are the cons?

    • @DavionWest
      @DavionWest  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it’s free. You’re not paying the annual fee, the only con I can think of is when you get out of the military you’ll have to pay the annual fee.

    Thank you for the video, I have a question what about the points, I can use them to purchase tickets for all the airlines? And what about the other airlines clubs? I can use too even if I’m not flying with the same airlines?
    Thank you

    • @DavionWest
      @DavionWest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I normally only use it to buy tickets through airlines. Because there is an amex airline portal but the tickets aren't the bet deals on their portal. Some airlines require you to be flying on their airline. If youre not flying delta you cant use their sky lounge. Sadly.

    Hey man! A little late but I was wondering do you know if I have to have had the card prior to joining or would it still be waived if I get it after I joined?
    Someone told me SRCA only covers it if the account was created before joining. Thanks in advance!

      Hey, so of course im not an expert and this is not financial advise. But I got the card after being in and the fee was waived. I would recommend calling and seeing what they say before you apply for a card.

    Great video sir I think these type of videos are really informational and entertaining. Do you know if the fee is waived for Guard/Reserve?

    • @jig5859
      @jig5859 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm in the reserves got it yesterday. (fee got waived, In Tech School right now) Did some looking prior to applying they give it to you as long as you are on title 10 or 32 orders. They check your status every 2-3 years to see if you are still on orders, if you are the annual fee resumes.

      @TylerLybarger 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jig5859 Do you need to apply while on orders or can you give them your orders that you were on a few months prior?

    • @jmbwashi
      @jmbwashi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TylerLybarger You have to be currently on orders to get your fee waived but you can have them start waiving a fee on a current card or the fee on a new card. Also, like the other guy said the will only check it every few years.

    Im bout to go to bmt in February and i have officially signed, but idk if its a good decision to apply for the platinum card before then. Also do yk who i should consult with? I have a regular Amex blue card and a 713 credit score

    • @DavionWest
      @DavionWest  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not too sure who you should consult. But I would wait till you finish your training and get settled at your duty station. Also I don’t know your finances sobi can’t really give advice.

    Is there a minimum credit score they require?

      700 but the average credit score is 715(for approved applications)

    Hi
    What kind of documents do Amex and Chase ask for to prove the military status?
    Thank you!

    • @jmbwashi
      @jmbwashi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They ask you for nothing. They have access to a database of active duty military personnel. They check it and if you are on the list the fee is waived. I would wait about a month after starting active duty to make sure you get it.

      @@L1LM1K3 you should be on the MLA list in the first week on active duty including basic training, so I my rule is wait a month. But don’t take my word for it you can check your MLA status online for free. You just have to make an account. Google MLA status check.

      @samuelhillvlogs I mean if you’re in the Army then the platinum is the better card to get since you won’t have to pay the annual fee. You can always downgrade to the gold card later on.
