7:28 lee morgan!!!!!!
Thanks for doing the work and sharing. Such legendary players, all with such distinct characteristics and who all owe their inspiration to Diz!
The last solo DIZZY Gillespie SOUNDS VERY MUCH LIKE LEE Morgan in the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band 🤔🤔👍🏽
yeah as soon as he played the break I realized it wasn't dizzy lmao
Big think
Not to mention that the lines are reminiscent of Clifford's solo.
Lee Morgan forever !❤
the last solo was played by Lee Morgan.
Absolutely amazing to have the sheet music for this, thanks JTJ!
These are pretty close at times! Good work!
Thank you for very informative transcriptions. However, I want to let you know that last solo was NOT by Dizzy but by very young (19 years old) Lee Morgan, even though it's Dizzy's big band and record. Cheers!
Yes, I agree. A tip-off, whole tone figures in bars 49-51. That's characteristic of Lee's style, but not Dizzy's.
@@BillBenzon.. Yes, and Tone!
That explains the tone. I thought "man Dizzy's getting a nice fat sound there".
Yes it was when Lee was young, Lee sat in on Dizzys set 1957 Newport Jazz Festival
ARTURO SANDOVAL MY HERO
Lee Morgan holy smokes!
ARTURO SANDOVAL ... just EPIC
Brilliant work, my friend and thanks for sharing.
Last solo is Lee Morgan played
This is the Language of Americas heritage music
From the proteges to the master himself,
John Birks ( Dizzy) Gillespie....
Dude no way you didn’t include Byron Stipling!!! His solo is so freaking goated
excellent job, thank you very much, jazz transcriptions japan
Flight of the jazzy b#
Wow!
Nice!
Oh, God, even someone that can a bit of a trained ear can understand that this man in the last solo is Lee Morgan...
You mean it's not Dizzy... while Dizzy is yelling, "yeah" and "Woahhhho" in the background? 8cP
Would like to add that Dizzy goes into the stratosphere at least once every solo he takes!
👏🏽
Last solo is actually lee Morgan and not Dizzy
arturo the best
Ummmm.... Why isn't JJ Johnson not on here??🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Trumpet, not trombone players
@@kbt2053 it says “Legends play a night in Tunisia” bozo, not “trumpet legends play a night in Tunisia” I simply made a comment because I like JJ Johnson
хотелось бы увидеть блюзы
Dizzy>Arturo>Lee>Clifford>Maynard
Sorry. They're all masters, but only for this solo. In A night in Tunisia(and Manteca), Nobody can't touch Dizzy and Arturo.
This is the same for Clifford in Cherokee. Also Jon Faddis and Cat Anderson in Things to come.
Who’s gonna tell him...
@@sink7524 I did not asking you. lady
so, based on these recordings you ranked Lee both better and worse than Arturo. i’m genuinely curious as to where you stand on this
transblood
Not ganna lie, Maynard was trash and there is a far better solo by Clifford that puts all these solos to shame
are you talking about the one on The Beginning and The End?
He went off that night!
@@charlesperforms that one is unreal. I love the crowd reactions too
No disrespect but Arturo’s is the best no doubt
That's the only upload, possibly because of the embarassment...But you shouldn't, you tried, better try and make a mistake than doing nothing and just comment as I did just now.
Aftastos K calm yourself little one
Jeez what does it even matter that much? Just enjoy the music
