Dont think tipping big is really a leak. I’d happily tip $15 in a 2k pot, you’re taking care of hardworking people that rely on tips. Definitely can’t shame anyone for a $5 tip there, but you can never go wrong with a little extra
Tipping $15 is dope. You should feel more good emotions than bad and realize the good you did for others outweighs the bad you did to yourself for the sacrifice.
Bro I tip 15 in a 900 pot sometimes , tip what you want , don’t think you have to tip like others .. if the dealer is a nice guy and made you win a huge pot with some bullshit , hook him up .. karma comes bsck
Do NOT ever become one of those people who count every dollar and penny pinch because your karma will not bode well... Please remember this, in life when you GIVE with an open heart, you GET back tenfold!!! That said, every situation is different so if you deem the dealer to be nice, hardworking person then REWARD them...If they seem like the type to be an A-Hole who is just concerned about their tips then don't!!! Basically, some people deserve every bit of your generosity and others do not!!! So basically, give if the vibe is good thrown them a green chip but if not then you can throw $5 and feel no shame in it!!! And btw, stop with the GTO tipping at the end crap bc chances are the dealer who dealt you that hand will have gone home or on break or you forgot which dealer it was... I compare that to them cheap Blackjack players who say tip at the end and they end up losing all their dam money before they get to the end!!! Just IMHO!!!
Good vlog bro!! In that spot with the flush I would have bet about 160ish but ur 130 bet was good too. But bro… u can’t leave me hanging like this, I can only like ur video once!!! I NEED TO SEE THE ACTION FROM THE LIVE STREAM!!!!!
@ValdezPoker, re "Why is this dealer trying to help this guy find something so bad?" The universal rule is that, "The cards speak for themselves". It's the dealers responsibility to read the hands regardless of what the player might say. So even if a player says, "You win", but turns over his hand and he has a better hand than you, it is the dealers responsibility to correct that based solely on the cards. In hold 'em that's typically easy, but in PLO and particularly with double boards it might take a bit to sort things out. So the dealer was just doing what he (she? not sure) was supposed to do.
King jack is a call borther he could have small pocket pair or ace queen there for a cheap bet relative to stack I’d actually raise to fold out those small pairs and then fold to re raise but with raise you take it down there if he calls it sets up up well for river bluff
I would call with the kj on the turn, you’re not getting direct odds but when you consider how much you could win if you hit ( especially if he has a had like aq/QT,/set ) you rarely have best hand but considering you have lots of money left to play for and have the ability to bet when checked to to win the pot makes it a call
$15 is generous for sure. I work at TCH Houston and we have our share of good tippers like you and also people that give $1 or nothing at all no matter how big the pots are. I think $3-$10 max tip during actual poker play is optimal.
Raise the turn bet min click. Pot Control. If he checks the river you can bet any diamond or nutted card. or you can check the river if you have show down. He probably had A high, or middle pocket pair, or hit the turn. I sensed weakness on his flop bet
For the KJ open ended hand you have 8 outs going to the river possibly 11 if you put him on a Q. So you have around 16-22% equity so if he bet more than 25% pot you should be folding.
Your buddy Red has no idea was he’s talking about tipping $5 in an over 2k pot. $15 is perfectly fine. In small pots tip $1-$5. Also that K-J you folded, why not raise him on the turn and get him to fold? That woulda looked strong and by taking the lead in the pot it allows more options to take it away. “ always do what you don’t want done to you in the hand to your opponent “.
Forget the online meet up games. When you hosting a in person????? I'll be in Texas 3 times next year and might get a man weave while down there lol. Great vlog
Hey brother. Just stumbled on your channel. I dig it. Good story telling, entertaining. Hit me up when you come play in San Antonio. Let's get some paper!
Hey im part of the 5% you should have just jammed with the open ended straight draw it's a 50/50 you either hit or you don't. By 5% I mean the bottom 5% just thought you'd like our opinion as well. Sarcasm aside a good rule for tipping in poker is $1 for dead money 1 BB for a normal pot 2 BB for a MASSIVE pot i've always tipped this way and the dealers are usually pretty happy about it. If a dealer particularly deals me really nice hands the whole time they are there ill toss em an extra BB on their way out.

There was 2 reasons you should have stayed in that second hand. OK 3 reasons when you look at the bet amount. The bet percentage, he was only betting you $25 on the flop then $75 on the turn. You had 1 more play to improve your hand. With those lower bets. Ment he had second to last pair. 10 through ace would have won you that hand at a discount. For not making you pay on the turn. Also, you need to give your chair a heat check. You could be his nemesis chair. You know that one seat you cannot beat even with pocket aces. Question: How can you get guppies? How long are you in austin playing? Any meetups planned? Also, re: tip the first hand...makes you memorable, sometimes those dealers work the front and it can influence your table placement.
I kept track of tipping in the past when I used to tip the occasional $5-15 on big pots and 1-3 on most other pots. I was tipping over $2000 a month! Assuming I made 100k/year, that’s almost 1/4 of my annual salary; way too much
Valdez , I ve been playing poker for over 35 yrs , you shouldn't worry about tipping just tip fair ,,,depends on your day and the way the dealer treat you ,,,the dealers never lose money ,,,,,example when your 95 percent and you lose the hand ,the dealer don't give you back anything . The dealer understands if you're a regular player u can't tip good all the time .I see dealers that let things slide cause the player is a real good tipper ,,, I don't find that fair rules are rules
KJ was supposed to semi bluff with the min raise to 150 on the turn when he bet 75 then jam all in on the river when you get inducted into the river 🐀 hall of fame with the nuts
I don't know Valdez I am like you I tip dealers well always have. I think instead of worrying about what you cash out as or whatever everyone watching you play see your tipping along the way so win or loose they take that in account as well. I would just do it however your use to it and comfortable. As I would of done same thing there. Jay from Tennessee 😎
Your odds were about 30 percent to win. The pot size of 177 dollars relative to the bet of 50 dollars to see the River Card was about 3 to 1 odds. This being said I think you could have played it either way. You only had 30 percent chance but your implied pot winnings could have been much larger if an Ace or 9 straighted you up. Your opponents probably had 1 pair or maybe even 2 pair but it would have been really hard for them to call any significant bet after the River card especially if it connected with the board.
Here you go bro, so you have one card to come, so you multiple your outs by 2. You have four Aces, and four 9’s. That 8 outs. Now if you believe your K outs are live to win the hand, you include those also. So that is 11 total outs times 2= 22% hand equity $177 pot divided by the raise $75 =2.36 Best rule of thumb is if your getting 2/1 pot odds, you need at least 25% equity to make a “profitable call” So in this exact situation, calculating just your hand equity and pot odds, you ARE getting the correct price to call that $75.
Tipping after winning a hand is a must. Depend on my mood tbh, how the dealer acting and service from 1-10 dollars depend how big the pots .Don't wait till after the session and tip more bro.. what if you lose that session.
Most pros will only tip after a double up or big pot I asked one pro that plays in my Casino and says it’s not profitable to tip every pot it’s too much money in the long run
@11m You didn't have the correct immediate odds to call. However, there are two scenarios you should consider before folding. 1) You probably had the correct implied odds to call--but only if you think your opponent will call a large raise on the river when you hit your hand. 2) Given the turn bet size, I don't think this hand is a candidate for bluffing; but if he had bet $50 or less on the turn, I would consider calling and then bluffing when checked to (or vs. another weak bet size) on the river.
Like big red when I'm on my game I'm the best in the world.....that being said haven't played live cash in months.....tournaments once a month but cash oops
Alright Valdez, I was a poker dealer for several years before turning into a full time cash game player. A little unknown fact that people don’t realize is dealers usually fork over 10-15% to their floor (at least that’s standard here in the Seattle area). I 💯 disagree with Red here, $15 is perfectly fine on a $2,000 pot. If you were the dealer, would you want $5 or $15? I absolutely love your content but you’re not better than 95% of us. Especially, since you openly admit to never studying or reviewing ranges. Your tight/passive strategy is easy to recognize and exploit. Also, I recommend changing up some of your bet sizes and patterns. Finally, your boy Big Red had a beautiful score. He’s trying to jump up in stakes too quickly imo. It’s just a matter of time before he goes through his roll trying to compete with the 5/10 guys. Never let him or anybody pressure you into playing stakes you’re not comfortable with. I don’t know the results of your live stream yet but I would guess you lost money after moving to the TV table.
I agree with you as far as the tipping part, which is why I won’t change how I tip. However, I’m actually better than 99% percent of my viewers. You’re not taking into account how many casual viewers I have who don’t even play poker in real life and are not profitable players in general….lol you’re obviously apart of the 1% that’s better than me, but when you really think about the ppl watching these videos, I would say way less than 1% are pros.
Tipping as a pro vs Casual player are completely different. If your money comes solely from poker, you have to be mindful of how much you are tipping. On average, a pro will tip more in the long run simply because they win more pots and play longer hours. Let’s say you play 36-40 hands over 9hrs as a pro and you win 70% and tip $5 every time, you have tipped around $140 this session. That’s more than a losing casual player tips on average.
You're not playing for a living, so tipping big is no big deal. I tip big when I win big, dealers appreciate/need it, so it's worth it. #tipyourdealers
First time coming across your channel and videos. Good decisions while running good but definitely way too much talking & fillers through the video. Just a small critic! Keep crushing it
All these people with comments on tipping i want you to go track how much you tip any given month. I play full time (30+ hours a week) 5$ is the max i ever tip in a pot. once you see the amount you tip in a month you’ll be shocked
@@BigRedPoker I remember when you told me that the first time you tracked your tipping in a month, it came out to over $1,500. Lmao sheesh. I don’t play for a living, so I’ll still tip the same. But I def see where you’re coming from bro. Tips do add up over the long run. But only pros would understand.
You're an idiot if you don't tip properly doesn't matter what you tip a month anyways I play full time and I do really well and I don't complain about tipping that's like going out to a restaurant you tip for service even though they're doing a little more the dealer it's all the same you can go be cheap anywhere you want hope I see you out playing cards I'll call you out every single time you don't like it don't play cards and I make over six figures a year doing it and it's not a big deal to tip if you sat there and thought about every restaurant you ever ate would you be complaining about that too
I agree they add up, I guess it just depends if you play to put food on your table vs viewing it like a social club. I guess that’s the good thing, everyone is entitled to tip the amount they see fit. No one can give you shit if you tip $1 or $50.

I hate when the dealer does that with the double board
KJ hand should of been a raised
Tipping as a pro vs Casual player are completely different. If your money comes solely from poker, you have to be mindful of how much you are tipping. On average, a pro will tip more in the long run simply because they win more pots and play longer hours. Let’s say you play 36-40 hands over 9hrs as a pro and you win 70% and tip $5 every time, you have tipped around $140 this session. That’s more than a losing casual player tips on average.
Makes sense. Thanks for the insight!
As long as I was still up $1,000 I would have taken that opportunity to play on the livestream.
I don't hit the like for shit but I totally want to see the live stream lol. And here I go commenting as well. Such a sucker.😅
was 1200 a tad too ambitious? no you deserve it! but drop the next ep 😅
You're not playing for a living, so tipping big is no big deal. I tip big when I win big, dealers appreciate/need it, so it's worth it. #tipyourdealers
Overbet the flush to $225
Better or more lucky?
Better
@ValdezPoker love your attitude,
I tip every hand I win, just because the dealers are frequently switching tables
@@ct1453 yea I tip every hand as well. I was talking about getting the sizing right for profit/results reasons.
I don’t know the gto amount to tip which is why I was asking you guys.
@ a few dollars to 5 per win, so yes your boy is right.
I'm with you on that big red

What I miss why you haven’t played in 2 months
