Marlin, my friend, please. Let's take a deep breath and take this one step at a time. First of all, thank you for leaving the best comment on my video so far, I appreciate that. Now, tell me about the issue you are having. Is the crepe not sticking to your pan? That happens sometimes. You might need a thicker batter, or you can try letting the stove get fully heated before dipping. Anyway thank you for watching and commenting. Please let me know how it goes. We should certainly do a collab video someday.
I just used this today, tips from my experience: make the mix a bit runny, don’t add anything to the hot plate (butter, pam, etc), don’t be afraid of the mess 😂
Haha. Thank you Abi! That's what I hear in my head when I do these. I imagine old black and white TV commercials talking about "The Wonders of the Future!". 😀
@@maddiesyoutube6023 a packet of Vanilla sugar is best but not sure it is easily found here. Can make it yourself though. The side you start with will always be more brown, it is better to flip them to cook the other side for a bit. That other side will be more light with some brown bubble-like spots, will never get as brown as the first side but it is ok. There should be a long wooden spatula with the kit. When the first side is not sticky anymore, it will be easy to slide the spatula under the crepe from one side to the center and flip the crepe. Yum! if you use a crepe pan, flipping the crepe is super fun... also can end up on a cabinet or the floor if poorly handled 😆 Need to make sure the crepe is not still sticking to the pan. th-cam.com/video/PNgdvek_nmc/w-d-xo.html
I'm back to cooking on my pan. Very strong plastic smell whenever I turn on my crepe maker and I have to flip and cook the other side. So much easier on a good old pan.
Thank you so much Margaret, you have made my day. I hope you are doing really well in Perth. I appreciate your watching and taking the time to leave a comment.😀
I LOVE MY MOSS & STONE Electric Crepe Maker! The first one I made came out PERFECTLY! They were delicious! It was much faster than making them in a skillet! I am going to continue to practice so that my plating of the Crepes gets better. (If they make it to the plate😋😋). I had to stop myself from making more batter because it was SO-MUCH-FUN!😃😃😃😃😃 (And yes I threw the very 1st one out per the instructions 😉)
We take waffles seriously in our house th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUfphIgghPSpAXNq6OG2WRYsFVqylcqMn and worked our old one through many years of Sunday brunches till it finally gave out on us. Our old one only made two at a time, this one makes four! Nicely sized 1 inch thick which are lovely! Now the kids don't have to wait as long to eat our weekly waffle breakfast and everyone's are hot if we wait and eat all together! Setting 3 seems to work perfect for golden brown. Be sure to pour the batter in the center of each waffle square, not the center of the iron like the novice that posted the scorched waffles photo. About a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of batter in each seemed to work well for us. We tested making just one at a time so we could use all the remaining batter and it made it just as fluffy and golden as when we made 4!
Actually it is cooked all the way through. Pancakes are thicker, so must be flipped; crêpes, not so much. The batter is so thin, it cooks all the way through. The appearance has gone from glossy to matte = cooked. through. Carryover cooking also comes into play after you've taken it off the pan, so it's thoroughly cooked.
Hi there, lovely video tutorial, love the voice ☺️. One question though, I have tried several different batters but somehow never get the right mixture and the Crêpes are always a bit dry. Do you have a recipe for me? Would be very much appreciated. Greetings from Germany
Hello Kristin. Thank you so much for watching. How is the weather in Germany? It is very cold here now. I have a recipe that works for me and I think they come out pretty moist. I apologize that this is all in that crazy American imperial units. The metric system is illegal here. 2 cups of flour 3 tablespoons of sugar 3 large eggs half stick of butter 3 cups of milk.
@@tomatobaby6827 Thank you so much, I will try your recipe soon (I found a good converter for our metric system). The Weather here can't decide what it wants 😅 we got everything but still a little over 0 °C. How cold is cold where you are from?
I agree! Don’t leave it down in the batter because it immediately begins cooking when it touches the batter. I recommend practicing and use a timer each time you dip it to get to perfect coverage and cook time for yourself. I have personally timed my perfect crepe 3 seconds dip and 25 seconds cook time. They are too crispy for me any longer on the griddle than that. I hope this helps.😉
I got this crepe maker too and tried it for the first time today. One question I have I usually cook both sides of crepes in a pan. This one makes crepes that look really good on one side. Other side doesn't have any browning . I'm making these for kids so wondering if it's thoroughly cooked n safe to consume.
Hey Maddie! Thanks for watching. This topic has become controversial and political. Some people say you have to cook both sides, some say you only cook one side. I have only known crepes cooked on one side. Ever since I tried my first crepe 20 years ago at a terrace café on Boulevard Saint-Germain-de-Prés, it was cooked on one side, picked up with a long flat spatula, and that's it. I would also point to the design of this device to say it was meant for one dip, one side cooking. You could peel it off, flip it over and cook the other side, but then it is no different from a frying pan. I think crepes are thin enough that both sides are being cooked in one shot. It is nice to have a crispy side and a soft fluffy side. Anyway, I appreciate your watching and taking the time to comment. Please subscribe and watch my other videos. We will collab some day!
