It still puzzles me why the makers of this included that insulting Steve Allen bit. He didn't have a clue about rock and roll, and neither did his lily white audience.
The good thing about Steve Allen was he did showcase lots of young songwriters and musicians of the day. And he was a songwriter and musician himself. I have seen on old videos of Dean Martin really insulting the Rolling Stones while introducing them on his T V show. And the same with Red Skelton on his show. I guess the World War 2 crowd just didn't understand the successors of their generation. Which I guess is not unusual.

I happen to be the maker of this and want to show what an impact Be-Bop-a-Lula had.
