Refreshing the views on how we can best use these options were great! Thanks.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! Clear, concise, with just enough detail to grasp the essentials and not so much detail as to be overwhelmingly confusing! Thanks again!

    Thanks Janine, really helpful.
For those of us who have several years on images in LR already and would like to make some changes going forward what would your advice be - a new catalogue or implement changes in file structure to the existing catalogue going forward.
Currently, I operate chronological order system and until now have my mages stored on my desktop hard drive and the backed up to two duplicate LaCie external hard drives and to the cloud.
My hard drive is pretty full and I need to start storing on external drives. - can a catalogue cope with files being on different external hard drives that are not always all connected ?

I'm a cross between being barbaric & a slacker when it comes to software in general, never taking advantage of the advance features they offer. One of these days I'll organize a little better but it probably won't happen until I can't walk anymore.
