One of my favorite things about Puddin's channel, (and Mortske for that matter), is that they admit and show their mistakes and do not edit them out and act like they don't make bad mistakes. It makes for relatable channel content. Real is the deal. Puddin is real.
Puddin' , Thanks from an old man who will never get the chance to build his own Model A hotrod. It's good for me right now to have your videos to look forward to. I really needed this. I only wish I was there to help you. God bless and work safe. Tom in Idaho
Puddin's channell changed my life, I'm a older car guy that stopped working on cars. I started off buying some new air tools, I watched what main tools Puddin uses. My first project is a HHR. I just finished it and it's better than a brand new car. It was alot of fun and I feel good about it. Thanks Puddin for getting my ass off the couch ! Please print some " Momma didnt raise no Punk short sleeve :)
Just a little comment, on my previous model a builds I would cut the rear fender well and add a strip to kind of forming a mini tub. Otherwise when setting up the car in a lowered position the tires will rub on the backside. Check out the firewalls from Direct Sheetmetal it will give you a starting point for what you need, weather you make the modifications or purchase one. Keep the videos coming
The "Someday model A" turns into the "Today model A". Great show tonight glad it ran a little late, allowed me to get my new T-shirt and sticker order in. Can't wait to see the progress on that "Is that from the 80's" street rod.
@Jason1975ism wah wah who cares. They sold so many of these damn cars and there's millions rotting in fields. If you want to restore one there's plenty.
Puddin next time you’re at the harbor freight get yourself the $25 air powered band file, handy as can be for grinding the heads off old screws and such. I find a new use for it every time I do a project.
I watch every video on here. I fully support you puddin. But this video just brought me back to how I used to feel. Finally back to building projects. I watched this fully from the beginning to the end. This is the Content I remember and absolutely love! So happy your finally in the new shop and back at the projects!! Looks great buddy. I'm very pleased with a 2 hour video!
I think giving the someday model A back the guy you bought it from was really awesome. It’s a win win. He gets his beloved car back and you get to build your project with an amazingly nice platform! Good on you Puddin!
@Puddins fab shop,,,I watched some older videos of Edna today,,,,I can THAT YOU have suffered through a lot of stress,,since back then...You have done well,,,KEEP YOUR FAMILY CLOSE,,,They need you as much or more than you may think,,,God be with you..THANK YOU FOR THE SHOWS...👍👍👍
Hey Puddin', I bought a fairly good '32 5 window Coupe. When I started getting in to it the wiring, suspension, brakes, engine and everything else had been thrown together. Hot Rod was the only way to go. It took about fourteen years off and on but now she's all done we are having fun. I had guys telling me I ruined a good car but we don't worry about them. Me and my family are enjoying driving the hell out of it. All the best from England.
If you want a 283 with side mounts they are cast in after 1958 until they stopped production in 1967. But I'd go with any small block I could find and add the script valve covers for the "look."
That's y I love it channel u dont care what everyone else thinks it's urs and ur gonna do what u want to do unless u know ur gonna sell it or give it away and that's how it should be and I support u all the way
Puddin, I'm extremely disappointed in you, you're taking apart a perfectly good model A to make a badass hotrod and you don't even have the decency to see if it'll maybe do a burnout first??? What is the world coming to!
Nails were on door cards through the mid '60s LOL! Nice Model A, great frame. I was impressed by the deal you gave to the owner of the Someday Model A.
I’m gonna get my wife to subscribe to Puddin’s Fab Shop to offset 1 of the whiny crybabies that unsubscribed because he’s building his model A the way he wants
Was getting a bit sick at my stomach looking at all the cutting of the body but the further you cut and the more you found it's a good thing you did what you did. Now I can't wait to see what comes from the puddin mind and the final look.
Good job Puddin, it's starting to look great man. Your compressor kicking on really doesn't mess up the sound as bad as you think I could still hear you fine with it running. Can't wait to see what all you get done next. 👍
You will drive and enjoy it the way you are going with the car and it would just sit the way it was originally. I look forward to seeing the build and the smiles it puts on your face as it goes along.
As much as I love older cars in factory form, I do really appreciate modified builds as well and this looks awesome! Great job. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Puddin is a great example of what’s great about America. We do what we want( mostly) live how we want, and take an old classic model A and fab it into something way cooler. It’s just a damned old car folks!!!!
A new build of EPIC, groundbreaking, revolutionary, bench marking, set the benchmark high, absolutely mind-blowing consistency, Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seeing the model A on the frame with the white walls gives it a whole different look! I think it would look killer with the fenders, too! I can't wait to see the finished car. I really like the color too.
That car looks sick and it’s not even close to done. I build 1/25 scale models and have built lots of model a’s but this has got me wanting to do a full fender build which I’ve never done before. I’m gonna do a custom one for practice and once you’re done with the easy way model a, I’m gonna build a replica of it!
It's looking awesome!! Going with the better car was definitely the right move. It looks killer sitting on those wheels with no fenders, but I know that's not the look you're going for, so I'll enjoy it while I can.
Love it brother!! Just think, if it wasn’t for Hott rods back in the 80’s and 90’s we wouldn’t have had ZZ-Top and them Hott Girls…!😂 You know all the Haters loved watching all of those ZZ-Top music videos…! 💦
I am so happy you decided to return to the original plan and restore the chassis back to its beautiful original glory - the chassis is really well made. By doing that you restored my faith in Pott County Common Sense! I would have gone with a four speed myself.
I must admit, I was a little sad to find out we won't see a "chopped" Model A build, but after watching the teardown of that beautiful masterpiece, a chop job would just be blasphemy on such a clean classic ride
I was completely enthralled watching this episode seeing parts of a car I may never get to see from the aspect of the way I would like and boy howdy do I likey. And with slick there you got a fantastic sidekick for this project. Major kudos guys that rod looks good! And I agree it would probably taken you months to get close to this far along and if she could talk she would probably be overjoyed becoming a hotrod that will be driven and enjoyed much more than in stock form and for the purists this just raised the value of yalls original Model Ts by making those death traps just a touch more rare
If you need to take it apart and make a good car out of it then you're doing the right thing it looks really good and you will enjoy it.. there's a reason why people don't drive model A's everyday. But if you can make something good out of it..🤠👍

Weld a piece of flat metal to the cut off ends of the crossmember and make it long enough to hang down below, then figure out where that cut off piece needs to go and weld it to the flat piece that hangs down, and add gussets between the flat pieces and tubing. That is what I had expected you to do, but maybe there are reasons that wouldn't work?
I'm so excited to see this build start! Even if it isn't going to be what I thought it was going to be eventually, you do you Puddin and don't let anyone stop ya! God Bless

Puddin’, I built myself up, by reading the vast majority of the comments, before I started watching, I totally understand what you’re doing, and, also why. Also, you’re doing an absolutely awesome job at it. That being said, I am still a purist, of sorts, and, can’t help but cringe at some of this. It's looking good 👍 I know the swap meet u was talking about if slick 50 Set up out there take some of your shirts and stickers out there. May do pretty good. Out there
There is a burn protection paper that is sticky on one side that I used to protect glass when cutting with a slice and dice. It also protects when welding. I’ve used it on everything from glass, to paint, to interior panels. Your body shop buddies can probably help you out.
Mortske has 1 of those special 7 cylinder super charger motors. Your 1930 4 cyl will probably bring you the amount your spending rebuilding your car. I'm impressed on the great condition the 1930 car is in. I expected a lot more rust repairs.
We all laughed with you on the transmission DE-decision! Now, since you're going with traditional small block, a 400 cube small block would be a yep-sir!
That thing is awesome, more importantly very Happy for you to be working on and making progress towards your dream car. You work hard and deserve to treat yourself. That is going to be cool to load the family up in and cruise around on the weekends. Congratulations, looking forward to watching this process from start to finish. Thanks for sharing and God bless

Totally agree I think he's more talented than he realises👍
That thing's looking real good so far! An old, old trick for putting a V8 in a pre-V8 ford is to take the firewall out and put it back in backwards.

Whatever you don't use is easy to sell. Especially in good condition. Beats stuff sitting around. Love the build
Will probably get his money back, or more on the rolling chassis, engine, and transmission.

Old hot rod trick to recess the firewall is to use a metal wheelbarrow tub to gain clearance for the heads and distributor.
Cool project for sure.
and I've got one in NC he could have but it would cost a lot to get it to OK. Tears me up it's just sitting there going to waste
I came here to post same thing I have a couple buddy's working in custom shops that have done same thing.
Another way is to delete the firewall tank and flip the sheet metal around to gain the needed room for a sbc
Don't be nervous brother. It's looking great. Send the Ole girl the way you want... she'll ride. I believe it.
I bet Mortski is drooling at all those model A parts that Puddin's not going to use
