Mid 1990s UK fish and chip shop, people eat unhealthy food
That shop definately 90's , that frying range is a Preston and Thomas built in Wales probably supplied in the 1960'sand looks ok for the period ,from retired chipper who started in his dad's shop at age of 9 my family started to Dundonions about 1890
Fish and chips in paper. They were the days! There's no such thing as unhealthy food just unhealthy diets. Once a week would be ok.
So fish and Chips isn’t anywhere near as unhealthy as most people think! The fish is actually steamed by means of the batter being completely sealed as soon as it hits the oil in the pan! The heat generated then turns the moisture in the fish to steam which in turn cooks it. The only unhealthy bit is the batter if done properly! It’s the same with the chips. This is why when we stick the chips in the pan we don’t move them for a couple of minutes as this would cause the outside of the chip to loose it’s seal and let the fat in which in turn would create an unhealthy/soggy and fatty product
Everything in moderation. I used to ask for a bag of crackling-would never do that now !
These chips are way better than the chips you get in takeaways and most fast food places.
This is just the best. Some Friday nights were Chippy night's. Savaloy and chips for us kids and fish for my dad. My mom would have a pick on chips and have chip butty
Unhealthy my a*@se, Fish and Chips is a wholesome meal, protein, fat and carbohydrate. Batter made from flour, egg and milk.
Ok it’s fried in oil (or beef dripping) but it’s not something you eat every day.
We have a good local chippy and have a fish and chip supper every Friday 🤗

Honestly don’t know how chippys survive, only ever known people to have fish and chips on a Friday evening!
It is very expensive now, but I still love fish and chips and never really thought of it as being unhealthy, although it is fried food. I don’t get much change out of £20 for medium haddock and chips, mushy peas, curry sauce (a new addition for me, I’ve only just started having it) and a pickled onion. Usually about £16, or just over. But worth it, if it is good. I travel out of the way of where I live, to go to a cafe/restaurant to have it. Always a lovely treat. 😊

He used his bare hand (bacteria side up) to hold that pitta bread were the customer could not see . Then used a bit of parchment paper after 😮

inFamousVonVirus I think a lot of these clips were filmed for news reports and similar programming. Usually there is a voiceover over the footage.
