11:47 in one of Gorges talks, he talked about a minigame that resambled "can you dig it" a lot, so its obviouse that this minigame was supposed to be a tutorial for the shovel. i dont remember why exactly he got rid of it, but i can speculate that he didnt want to make an entire level dedictated to digging wallnuts, so he made the tutorial segment a short setup to the much more exciting bowling minigame
Half a year of this document being worked on and it did not disappoint! Truly shows much content is scrapped in most games, especially for PVZ. Nice job!

The unused Cherry Bomb is Referred as "Cherry Hover Bomb" which despite Costing 175 has the unique property of Being able to Hit Flying Zombies thing that the normal cherry bomb didn't have in the Early Builds and so in the final game iirc
Did you that in pvz2, there was an unused world called "time twister". It introduced Zcorp zombies and was very excellent. Unfortunately, it got scrapped😢. This was then later used as the Icon for penny's pursuit.
from what the community knows, zcorp zombies were never intended for time twister, they were made far after time twister was scrapped as penny's pursuit and arena enemies,

I want to ad somethings that i know and i want to share to you. The first one is that in the PvZ beta of december of 2008, when Crazy Dave gives you the plants there is a chance that he will give to you a sprout. This plant does nothing, it have the textures of a normal sprout of the zen garden ones. I don't know how rare it is, but i have found no videos about it and i remember to probably have just a photo of it, but i remember it clearly. The second thing is that i have seen a video about a very early prototype of PvZ. This video shows George Fan or Rich Werner explaining how PvZ works in a conference. In this video they showed a very early beta with a very early lown and very early gameplay mechanics, in fact in that prototype you will have a mechanic similar to the final levels of PvZ, but this time before planting you needed to have the amount of suns required to plant thst plant. Also in that video you can daw all the plants that George Fan drawn in action. Right now i can't find the video, but i will provide a link as soon as i found it. Thanks for reading, bye
There also are graphics showing suprised bungee zombie, starfruit eyebrows (they still are present on some artworks), pc quick play menu, unused degradation stages for pumpkin and flag zombie's flag, unused coin designs and unused zombiquarium and zombie nimble zombie quick icons. Personally i think that zombie with dangling eye would be alternative, rare appearance for basic zombies, beacause some of them have tongue sticking out and this could be same case. I would like to see that in game, but i agree that it would be a little too graphic...

its funny how much the first games unused content affected the second game. even more than the stuff you mentioned. for example i feel like the dog walker zombie contributed to the existence of chicken zombie! plus a dog walker zombies exists in pvz heroes!
The dog walker zombie does not appear in Zombotany, it's just that since it's the first minigame, that also allows seed selection, most people's first instinct is to mod the unused zombies in to specifically Zombotany. However, the beta does have the Jalapeño zombie in Zombotany 1, which was removed in the final game, likely due to the fact the player hasn't obtained Jalapeño by the time they unlock minigames. Also, is that Antichamber music I hear in the background??
Squash would cancel his animation if the target was killed, u can see that in Bloom and Doom. Also unused zombies also show up in Sunny Day. Interestingly, the propeller zombie doesnt totally function like the balloon zombie like I expected. His propeller isint popped, instead the cactus will stay standing up while shooting till it falls, and the magnet shroom can take its propeller. And spikeweed can kill the dog zombie.
I've watched the videos made by TetraBitGaming but I've forgotten most of the stuff from it, so this video helped me to remember the unused content from PVZ1, So thanks!

The air raid minigame isnt entirely scrapped but the concept is. The air raid one is in the ds version but instead of fighting only balloon zombies. You fight zomboss as a gatling pea. I had to point it out
I heard that the DS version has unused level slots with functioning titles for the Limbo Page levels, but nothing is within them. I’m not certain tho, I was only told this by a kind Reddit user. Could someone verify this?
I still have the first version of PVZ and it's in my Windows 7 laptop, actually, I saw those removed and forgotten design, and now I think I don't want to update my PVZ
I did find something odd about the Auto Respawn time, is said 0-8 in which i waited and it didn't auto respawned me, and Engineer's damages output can increase if he fire lots of the concrete chunks at the plants if some of them damage the plants at the same time
i think you forgot the old design for the conehead and buckethead. the old conehead had clothes like gw engineer and the buckethead was a painter explaining the bucket.
Just an idea and off topic. But i find it weird that no one has really tried any of Laura Shigihara's games. It would be cool if somebody would do something about it.
