Saw this video about a month ago, tried the gummy flex and was definitely impressed. I have weather tech mats and have tried a few other products with negligible results. My only issue is make sure to use outdoors as it has a strong isopropyl smell. But it dissipates as it dries. So far it has lasted well over a month in my daily driver. As mentioned preparation is key, but I highly recommend it. 👍✌️☮️
That was a super good tip about hitting the mat in all 4 directions with the pressure washer. I have never thought about that. But looking forward to trying it on next interior detail.
Green star works amazingly to clean the floor mats. 1 : 10 with a brush does the trick no problem, I got a new product to use now after I clean them now!
I just use a tire cleaner. At the moment malco whitewall. Hang on a matt clamp . Rinse and while wet spay with water based plastic/ vinyl cleaner and let dry . Comes out great and not slick
Hey Josh, I’ve noticed the last couple times I applied this to my Weather Tec mats they had a slightly slippery feel for a few days. The GUF was also beading on mat and not flashing/drying? Any idea why/what I did wrong? I’ve applied it at least a dozen times over past 18 months and never had an issue. Ty.
I have just discovered your channel, but amazing review!!! You detailed all the steps, you showed how the solution behaves in time, not just after it was applied. 💯
I’m from Austria and have used this product for two years. It is absolutely not slippery, trust me! Rain or snow, you are not going to have problems, not even the slightest. To my knowledge, it’s the only product on the market specifically made for this purpose, and it does the job perfectly. Of course, you can use it for other things as well, any plastic or rubber.
I got new floor mats from Ford for my F150. When I got them they looked faded to begin with, but I got them free so was not a huge deal to me. My son immediately, like within the first week of having them, spilled milk, fortunately on the rear mat and not on the seats or carpeting. By the time I got home, and pulled the mat out, it had already dried. I have since scrubbed the mat twice, first using just some car wash and a scrubbie, and then with simple green and a scrubbie, and while the mats look clean, there is still like this waxy looking film where the milk was spilled that I cannot get rid of. I think maybe the milk did something to the rubber. Do you think this stuff would work to fix it?
Question in another video you used super clean with a spray gloss that was diluted with water, end result was bit more color and shine is this a better version of that or super clean still way too go?
Not saying he’s doing it wrong, because he’s not. But he’s over-simplifying it a bit. It’s a TH-cam video so understandable. But here’s an easier way of going about it that’ll give you amazing results… Rinse mat with water, get as much off as possible. Spray a Rubber cleaner/conditioner/protectant (I use Mothers VLR) and/or a degreaser onto mat and let dwell for a minute or two. The VLR is for softening the rubber and making it more slick. Rinse again. If the mat is really bad and is still really dirty, almost oversaturate the mat with VLR and Degreaser and scrub with a brush, drill brush, or something so it’s agitated (preferably a soft brissled drill brush). Don’t rinse yet, but lift the mat and make sure there’s no sitting chemicals or water on mat. And spray only the VLR again, and let sit for 5 mins. Scrub again then rise off.
I have been watching a ton of your videos as I have been getting into car detailing. They are very well made and very helpful! Keep it up! Do you know anything about the 3200 Husqvarna pressure washer from Costco? I just barely bought the greenworks pro 2300 from Amazon after watching your review on it but today I saw the Husqvarna for sale making them the same price. The Husqvarna has more psi and gpm. For car detailing that extra psi won’t make much of a difference but I’d also like to be able to use the pressure washer for cleaning my fence, driveway, house, etc. Any thoughts as to which would be more versatile? Which would be more likely to last longer? I’d maybe guess that the gas powered engine might make the Husqvarna more serviceable after a lot of use.
I love Gummifix, Also love PSS applied the same way sprayed onto an applicator pad for a tyre dressing and for exterior plastics. Game changer for me and thought I’d never move away from Perl! Have you tried?
@@jasoncraig6158 Easy 2-3 weeks during the Winter months in the UK so possibly more during the summer. I generally try to wash once a week and reapply every wash so longevity isn’t something I pay a lot of attention too
Hey Josh. What besides Rubber / Plastic floor mats are you finding use for Gummifix. Im trying to come up a list with every possible thing u can use this on. I have door sills, gas and brake pedals. Also of course the Mats are included
Great video Josh! I have a few words of advice, I noticed you are scrambling around on a hard surface on your knees and think you should consider subing a kneeling pad or mat. Take it from one who knows. As a young man it doesn't bother you all that much but the constant abuse over years will take its toll. Protect those knees please!
Great channel ! I got a question I hope you can answer . I have a Daytona 392 with the decals , they are weathered and have a lot of spots on them . They are matte black . Is there anyway to bring them back or should I get rid of them and get new ones ??? Thanks in advance 👍
Hello Josh. This is definitely great for rubber matts. I wonder how it would work on Rubber windhield trim or any rubber trim around your vehicle? Can you also recommened a product that can restore any rubber door and windshield moldings? Somethings that can restore the black color of the trim, lasts a while, and doesnt streak when it gets wet?
I love how informative your channel is, i've seen most of your videos on pressure washers and foam cannons and was wondering if you had any recommendations on foam cannons that do a good job with a low psi electric pressure washer. I currently have the craftsman 1700 psi you reviewed about a year ago but also don't want to spend $90 on a foam cannon
@@imjoshv As an update we ended up ordering Lasfit mats for our 2023 Civic. They fit perfect with no trimming. Had an Amazon GC too. Even at $109 full price they're not bad. They're just as nice as Weathertech mats too. Not to mention half the cost. They don't offer trunk options though.
Thanks for the product review. Too weird. I was just thinking about how to restore my rubber mats and then this shows up in my feed. I think TH-cam is watching me a little too closely. :-) I do have one question. Is there any way to buy the product in a smaller container? I don’t think I need that much product for one car and the price to get that huge amount is a little steep for me. Thanks again.
for a home owner is it worth to buy a separate product just for these mats? are there any alternatives that we would already have on hand for these mats
I like an APC to clean mats and then I use CarPro Perl for protection. It leaves mats a tiny bit slick for a day or 2, but once they are dry and used a tiny bit, they are just fine. Just be aware that if they get wet in those first couple days, they will be more sick than if you don’t treat them at all.
A video on how to clean a set of weathertech mats. First, use simple green and water and just as clean. Second, they are weathertech mats, after two-years, deposit in nearest garbage can and get a better set such as Husky mats. Last longer and cleaning is the same.
Hey Josh, thanks for making this video. How have the mats held up on the mats you applied it to? None of the videos on the Internet address this, so it would be great to know how well it holds up looking great. Thanks!
Hey Alex, Ill do an update video soon but just to answer your question, it didnt last super long. Think of it as a tire dressing for the interior. Makes a huge visual impact but doesnt last too long. The more rubber mats vs this one that is a bit more plastic feeling seem to last longer cause the product has more to absorb in to
@@imjoshv I appreciate the response man. Look forward to the update video. From the quick glance this seemed like the perfect solution to reviving the look of the mats without the slickness. Thanks for the video - wasn’t aware of this product! Any idea how long it lasts before reapplication?
That was my first time ever using it. I’ll update as time goes on!
Can you use Gummyfix to maintain and protect car door rubber seal?
Don’t use it for that. The cost wouldn’t make sense. Use a silicone spray instead. It will work way better on rubber seals at a fraction of the cost.

How's the slickness after it gets wet? It's typical that floormats get wet and the products sort of activate again, which could lead to slickness.
