Cheers Foxy, I'm only a recent subscriber but having checked a few videos you do a sterling job on the reviews and always seem to make me chuckle on the others. Keep up the good work pal
I have the BBULPS and I use it with the Trangia Stove or wood (I don't like Hex-Tabs). I just don't have an ash pan, but instead I scrape the ground underneath free of burnable things. Thanks for the comparison!
Just coming in 9 years later to say that the newer UL model has a bigger opening in the side so you can use the simmer/snuffer in from the side while that top trivet is in place.
Great review, thanks. One thing I noticed with my Trangia triangle.... If you have a Trangia burner clone it may fall straight though the support ring.. i was messing with my modified highlander burner (remote fill project)...the rim isn't as wide.. just something to look out for.
Morning Paul ...... just for possible info, my mate uses the Trangia and uses two metal tent pegs laid over the trangia as a pot rest but in my opinion its not really safe. I have the bushbox .... excellent kit for the pocket. Atb and stay safe bro ... Jim
Have you tried a gas burner in the Bushbox? Trangia 1- 0 305mm x 2mm ss bike Spoke bend into a Y Return leg is double of course, silghtly spread at far end, to fit each v of the w of the pot support. It accomodates all smaller pots. You could make a Spoke Y pot support for the Bushbox too rather than the flame blocking thing supplied. The Trangia alcohol burner / gas burner ring is too heavy guage, so a weight saving there if you make your own. Thank you for the videos. Take care
Loving the Bushcraft Essentials, may have to invest in one to try myself. Only problem is you keep costing me money! The wife's gunning for you lol "why do you need a collapsable kettle!" Was her last comment ;-)
Cant beat versatile in my book... still liking that stove from BE to go with my BE pocket stove and EDC... and want the XL dam i wish they wouldnt keep bringing these great stoves out lol Atb
The feeding window has been enlargened with the current ones, so snuffing works and also simmering, unlike in Trangia trangle, has the full adjustability.
'mornin, Paul; That was a great stove review.I'm with U I'll take the Bushpot Essentials. Thanks 4 sharing another great video with us.Hoping All's well there. Happy Trails From The Maritimes In Canada ATB Terry " GOD BLESS "
Thanks for posting this. Good comparison. Just wondering whether my 750ml Tomshoo pot will fit ok on the Trangia Triangle. ATB - Ben (Londoner Outdoors).
Nice video matey. Im looking for a stove and cook pot but im after a cheap cheap CHEAPo one hahha bloody skint but love picnicking with my boy. He lovea making the fires for a brew :0) got any recommendations mate
Thanks Foxy, will have a good look into the pair of them soon, am looking for something just like that. Think the other one will be the better bet as you say, a bit more expensive than the Trangia but more versatile, thanks again.

9 yrs on I’ve still found this useful thank you 😊, I went with the Bushbox 🙌🏻
You are welcome Sarah, the bushbox is a great stove, my wife has a new one and I have the firebox freestyle so best of both worlds lol

The bushbox Ultralight + a Trangia seems to be the best solution for a quick outdoor coffee!
It’s a great bit of kit buddy
Paul
Absolutely brilliant review. That ultralight might well be my next purchase.

Two steel tent pegs give you the perfect 'trivet' for the Trangia triangle.
No wrestling required!
There isn’t a real comparison here, because the BE is also a stick stove. Well actually a multi fuel stove. Trangia is pretty much just a pot support
Thank you for sharing....gas stove and Gel burner and also so use sold fuel in the gel burner
You are welcome my friend

I like the Bushcraft Essentials. Helpful review Paul - thank you!

Thank you my friend they are both very good
Great comparison. Yes I would have to go with the Bushbox ultralight stove. Thanks.

You could put In a trangia their gel burner and use is with gel or solid fuel, also trangia seems to be much better windshield :)

Awesome Foxy!! I'd love to see a fire with wood made in it
Good review.
Good vide and nice stove. I have an esbit that is similar to the bushcraft one.
hey Paul, great comparrison review!!! atb, Tony
Top review foxy, cheers mate. Atb.
How do you snuff out the spirit stove when the trivet is too hot to remove? Is the wood feed hole big enough to get the Trangia lid through?
The feeding window has been enlargened with the current ones, so snuffing works and also simmering, unlike in Trangia trangle, has the full adjustability.
