- A transgender woman is suing a social media app for discrimination in the Federal Court. Roxanne Tickle launched legal action against 'Giggle for Girls' after she was removed from the app in 2021, and claims she was discriminated against unfairly because of her gender.
The creator of the app denies any wrongdoing, and has repeatedly denied that Tickle is female. Today, we’ll deep dive into the details of this case, and explain why it's so important.

It stems from a fictitious narrative whereby a given ‘gender’ was forced upon them at birth as part of a ‘heteronormative system of oppression’, and they are subsequently fighting to emancipate themselves from this ‘assigned gender’ in order live as their ‘true authentic selves’ as the opposite - or entirely made up - ‘gender’.
Of course in reality their biological sex was simply observed and recorded as empirical fact.
Not only does Tickle wants to go on this woman app (where he is definitely not wanted there) but he wants the app redone so he doesn't get offended by its content.

Sex is determined by whether an X chromosome sperm or a Y chromosome sperm fertilizes the egg. Eggs are always X chromosome, but sperm are mixed. If the sperm has a Y chromosome then the baby will be male. If it has an X chromosome, then the baby will be female. It might take 7 weeks for modern medicine to be able to tell, but it is determined as soon as the egg is fertilized.

@@lynnm6413 I have heard a little bit about the sry gene, but I don't fully understand it, and people who don't even understand the part that I have already described, most certainly won't understand the sry gene part, even less than I do. Some people really seem to believe that doctors arbitrarily decide whether a given baby is a boy or girl, and "assign" the baby's "gender". Even if I fully understood about how the sry gene works, I wouldn't want to complicate it even more for people who don't even understand the basics about which kind of sperm fertilizes the egg. I do understand, however, that the sry gene has to be active in order for the baby to be male. Which strongly indicates to me that there is an even LESS likelihood for a born male to really be a woman.

For the context of this topic I don’t think it helps to refer to Tickle as "she". This insane. Tickle wasn’t discriminated against because his gender identity, he was removed because he is male and it is a female only platform. The CEO of Giggle recently stated that transgender men were perfect welcome to join because they are female. We are not assigned a sex at birth, we are born with our sex already established and yes that includes intersex people. I don’t think people supporting Tickle and the transgender movement really understand what this means for biological women and society as a whole long term. They can’t see beyond the end of their noses. This is so important. When did so many people lose the ability to understand nuance and recognise science.
Tickle’s supporters understand perfectly well what they are doing. Like all good post-structuralist Marxists, they are trying to destabilize society to bring down capitalism. They will cheerfully lie to do it.

This is missing so much of the actual background of the case and how it came about. It's a constitutional challenge as relates to the CEDWR international agreement for protection of women and girls. This case has international ramifications as well as having an impact on Australia's laws relating to women ie domestic violence, access to sex based medicine etc.

Exactly. It is an acting-out of sexual abuse on a woman because she will not validate someone's sexual fantasy, or take any part in it. The courts are now a party to the abuse by entertaining this nonsense.
This is very one-sided and missing the point which is that no surgery or drug will ever make a person born a woman or man into the opposite sex. I respect that someone wants to identify as their opposite sex, but I think we need to consider all of the women who have been women their whole lives and experienced living in a male dominant system. These life experiences make them a woman and even though someone born a male may think they know what this is like, they in fact will never know. This is the thing that is the issue. Trans women need to come to terms with this idea and not see this as a direct rejection of them but just that some women don't wish to share certain spaces with non biological women. Gender ideology, among other things, is a very effective way to destabilise the society, causing further division. Those at the top (ie. the oligarchs) are very much behind this.

The most important part of the giggles defence was not included in this video, they are mainly using the UN protocol of CEDAW (The Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women) agreed to by 94 other countries and which was recognised by Australia in the 2008 revision of the Australian Human Rights Commission, hopefully giggles has a good chance of winning the case.

The central question is how far the rights of a trans person go when they conflict with those of women. And they conflict, that should be out of the question. Feeling like a woman gives you the right to enter safe places for women, or exclusive ones for them, or not? When, under what conditions, when not? What these trans women don't realize is that by trying to force their way into these spaces they destroy them, because any man can then abuse the system and inhabit those places, making them unsafe for women and trans women alike. Grover was required to: allow Tickle to join the App; attend a re-education course in sex and gender; and have moderators on the app to remove any comments by women that might offend a trans-identifying man.

I do think that people of whatever orientation should be allowed to have their own spaces. Trans women already have this at Victorian Pride. I think Victorian Pride lists 4 groups that are trans women-only groups. But the Australian Human Rights Commission said that lesbians who are born female are not permitted, , to have lesbians-born-female only groups, that these groups should be open to non binary people and trans women who identify as lesbian. I think heterosexual women should be able to have their own groups. Men who are born male should be able to have their own groups. Trans men assigned female at birth should be able to have their own groups. Non binary people should be able to have their own groups. All of these groups have issues and concerns that are particular to their own identities and histories and experiences in the world, and these should be respected across the board. At the moment it seems the only people who are allowed this, according to Pride and the Human Rights Commission, are people assigned male at birth who identify as women. There can also be groups where everyone comes together a well!
Also, the history of this case wasn't completely covered in this video. I read that Sally Glover didn't attend the mediation because Tickle had a list of requirements she had to submit to, including 're-education'. Also, trans women were actually welcomed on the app until other women complained that some were bringing into discussions a level of 'toxicity' , was the word used. I don't know all the details of that, it was something that people on the app said was happening. I haven't seen a very detailed interview with Roxanne, but I would like to see that. My point is that there is a lot more to the history that has culminated in this court case.

That's what the case is REALLY about. Do biological people do things or do identities do things? Do bodies play sports or do identities? The mediation offer on the table, was that the App allow Tickle back in, that the CEO attend compulsory DEI training, that the App monitor and moderate women's chat if Tickle found anything offensive. You should have done a bit more research about why it was refused.
