Until 1940, the minerals extracted from the surrounding mines were taken on board. Cala Domestica preserves ruins of warehouses, warehouses and galleries dug by the miners. One of them on the right of the cove leads to a second secluded cove, almost intimate, called precisely La Caletta.
The main cove is a deep inlet with a wide beach of soft and compact sand. Small shrubs of Mediterranean scrub appear on the dunes behind the expanse of sand. In front of it, there is one of the most beautiful sea in Sardinia, with turquoise and blue colours.
The imposing limestone cliffs give the feeling of being in a corner of paradise, where the uncontaminated nature is the master. The seabed is shallow and sandy, with the presence of some rocks off the coast. It is dominated from above by a Spanish tower of the eighteenth century, about 10 meters high, from which you can admire inimitable views. It was used in the 20th century during World War II as a watchtower.
