Hi friends,
Welcome to the LML Talk Project where women's stories of infertility and infertility treatments are discussed. The heart of this project to give a voice to other women who are facing the same challenges that many before them have faced. It is my hope that others will find hope and be reminded that they are seen and not alone in their journey ahead. If you are a woman facing infertility, you don't have to go at this alone. One of the best things you can do is get a support system around you for your mental and emotional health. I hope hearing these beautiful women's stories will help guide you in your walk.

So they mentioned that why keep the infertility struggle from family if most of the time they are very supportive. Well that didn't happen in my case. I've been trying with my husband for over 10yrs in private. I never shared it withanyone. I finally decided to tell my mother that I wanted to pursue other options to conceive & she blamed me & my husband for wating too long. We're both over 35 yrs old. So she said that we might not be able to have any children anymore cuz I'm too old. Broke my heart into million pieces. I've never confided to anyone else. I was so disappointed. I now tell everyone that I can't have kids when they ask me. It makes them very uncomfortable, but don't inquire something personal if you don't want to hear something personal.
Wow, I am so very sorry. I do understand the heartbreak that you are going through and I truly send my warmest wishes to you. I didn’t start IVF until I was 35 and my husband 42. We started later in life also but it didn’t mean we couldn’t build our family. People don’t understand the impact that their words can bring to us. It sounds like your mother was speaking from a hurt place and like the saying goes, hurt people hurt people. I truly wish you all the best for you and your husband and I hope that you can find some healing in the process.
