Haven’t finished the vid yet only 2:25 in but I’m already loving this so much; why not: 1. Motion the up-back across and run PA with the up back running a quick out (2steps and out) to occupy the flats to that side. This opens up for playing with the defense on that motion and most teams would probably treat it as trips (Used to be our rule if we had an up-back in the back field to the twins side even if he was still behind the line). 2. NOT motion the up-back but have him pull across and feign block then occupy the flat. 3. Rocket/Early motion the RB straight to the sideline before the snap so you occupy that flat. You’re insanely underrated coach. You’re an amazing resource for ALL coaches. Definitely putting this in the playbook. There’s a ton that can be done with this.
Just a note on the first play. Imho not quite sure it's Quarters. Definitely Split field but #18 (ILB) plays man to the back while the overhang to be "read" carries the slot WR. Backside linebacker plays zone so miscommunication led to busted coverage or someone missed the call.
Dude I’m really happy that I came across this video. I knew I recognized you when your face popped up. This play is awesome, I had never heard of the shallow sting concept. Have you ever looked into Brennan Marion’s Go-Go offense? I’m really excited to see how it looks at UNLV this season. I know Riley likes to use 2 backs a lot too, but the Go-Go seems like it’s easier for the QB to attack vertically off of play action. I hope everything is going great for you and your family, awesome breakdown, keep ‘em comin!
@@CoachDanCasey Can’t wait to watch that breakdown. Your stuff is really good, you have the heart of a teacher and it’s obvious. I hope you’re still calling plays, and if you aren’t then you will be when the time is right. Alright, back to this dissertation on the Counter and the concept layering off of it, I got my accounting work finished early today so I could do this haha
Always enjoy your content, Coach. Is this the language Riley uses for the concept? We run something similar, but it’s the Leach/Mumme Y Cross variation with the Divide tag. That deep motion by the Z is money though! Thank you for sharing such great content.
I saw the title thinking they were going to talk about Riley's character. When I hear Riley, and shallow in the same sentence that's the first thing that comes to mind. Good luck USC. You'll need all you can get.
We in the SEC are anxiously waiting for Oklahoma so we can bend you over and stretch you out every single year. Get ready for 6 wins a year. Signed, Arkansas
Linebacker blew the coverage by not staying with the receiver, he may have made the catch but it would have probably only gone for 25 yards instead of the chunk yards that were made on this play!
I like how you snuck a little system in with the play.
Riley is a savant, excellent break down.

I love it! I also love this concept off PA Jet Sweep - you can get the same spacing!
My favorite play.
LOVE this concept!

Good to hear from you my man! The Go-Go Offense is a lot of fun, I’ll definitely be breaking it down this year!

What are Lincoln Rileys most used concepts?

Install and Ball
That was a 7 man protection on first play - TB has Sam/Nickle off the fake
Haha Now you know why Riley takes the top QB recruit every other year and the top wr s almost every year.
so the Mills concept?
Whats your top 5 passing concepts?
SEC
He went 7-5 He only cares about
offensive
Defense wins nattys
I think Oklahoma is a good football team but Alabama an Georgia is better football program s this year
