I spent my Songkran in Pattaya at the hotel swimming pool. Didn't go out and get soaked.
I've been out for the last 3 days. And prior years I never had as much fun as I had this year. Not sure exactly why but I definitely had a good time as well as this afternoon I will go out.

Not my idea of fun I'm afraid. Living in the UK the last thing I want on holiday is getting soaked especially when most of the water being thrown isn't fit to was your car with.
I get it. There's been years when I couldn't stand Songkran. There's been times when I would leave the country because of the festival. But as I got older, I tended to embrace the heritage and what Songkran is all about. There's no doubt the water could be cleaner and most people I talk to end up getting sick after the festival. But the people that are participating in it are having a great time and truly love Thailand.
