Alain, if you want to cut a dowel with a scroll saw, try seating it in a 90 degree bed. The dowel wants to roll when the bit cuts, making it bind. The 90 degree bed should keep the dowel from rolling. Hope you all had a nice holiday!

He's right. I used to have tons of pine scraps. My kids got me gift cards to an exotic wood website after I made my daughter in law a purple heart and zebra wood Asian architect inspired jewelry box and with the scraps I made a beard care daddy for my son. They lived the different woods and I told them how nice it was to work with something besides pine or oak. So now I have lots of scraps ad various species and it was really cool when I built a noahs ark Mobil out of scraps of different does for my first great nephew. Mother in law crocheted the animals. Have fun and grab some exotics. It really makes you work better since you don't want any mistakes on an expensive board.
That would take me about a week to make! Nice one Alain, looks brilliant.

Perpetual motion is not possible, despite all the vids that say it is, there's usually some trick
"Energy cannot be created or destroyed, you can only transfer the energy"
For a start, some of the energy is changed through friction which changes to heat
I realized that the hard way, but at least I made Matthias laugh at me when I told him last february that I've tried to make one. But in the end I'm happier having made this Cryptex I had so much fun doing it :)

I still want to see those perpetual motion machines
Each of them was wrap individidually and we gave them one by one to Franky with an apology on the fact that it was not working. I thought he would just throw them away, but no he kept them, so I don't have them anymore... I still have the footage of making them but it was a big waste of my time, like everybody said perpetual machine doesn't work... So don't waste your time on it...
Alain, you know perpetual motion machines are impossible, right?
I know it now.... They seem to work so well in other youtube videos.... But not in mine. Franky kept them probably to rub it in my face later in life :))
