Deepest sympathy to you both, losing such a beloved furbaby is one of the most excruciatingly painful things we ever have to do. You were blessed to have his unconditional love for so many years, which makes his passing so very hard to bear. When a furry family member passes over rainbow bridge the pain is unbearable. They definitely leave their pawprints on our hearts. Dexter has left his paw print on so many of our hearts. It was so good to see such a beautiful soul living his best life. I for one have shed tears over the very sad news. My favourite TH-cam dog and his gorgeous brown eyes will be very much missed. It took more than a year before i stopped expecting to see my Samwize sleeping in my art stidio , the coolest room in my house. My heart goes out to you both. I am so sorry that your Dexter has passed away. I was brought to tears at the end of the vlog. I am sure that loosing him has left a very big hole in your hearts and your narrow boat must feel very empty without him. It is only within the past year watching TH-cam have I discovered life about narrowboats. It is so incredible that I can be sitting in my living room in Victoria, BC, Canada and feel like I am traveling the canals with you. Popping into your lives and getting to know a little bit about you and growing attached to the pair of you and Dexter. Life is stressful, but when it gets a bit too much I know that I can find peace and comfort, and an escape, by watching your vlogs. Sending you my deepest condolences. Of course by now we know about Dexter and have already conveyed our condolences on your FB page. A world famous dog. Looking at him here makes me think he had quality of life to the end. That is as good as any of us can hope for. You both clearly doted on him and were always there for him - even if one of you was working the other was there almost all the time. On top of that he had a wonderful few years on the canals and rivers where he had new sights and smells to investigate all the time. Compared to the average pet dog in a commuter town where they are alone most of the day and get a 10 minute walk or are simply shoved into the tiny back yard for a while when the family gets home Dexter had a great life. It is two way traffic. The two of you have had your lives enhanced by having Dexter too. On those cold or wet days you have still gone out for a walk for Dexter's sake, but also benefiting you and also having a joyous welcome when you arrive home after a hard or bad day away from the boat. That is as good as it gets all round really. We have a couple of cats. (We live in a Muslim country - there are dogs, but very few.) It just isn't the same. They are not as affectionate and there is no way to take cats for a walk - they just don't do walks. This means that if it rains or is too hot (never cool, let alone cold) we stay indoors. I hope you do get another dog - for the sake of the dog. Any dog would be lucky to be with you guys. There are plenty of dogs in need of a home with good people like you. Tim and Jalika, Malaysia

Dexter lived a really happy life and it took me back when I lost my 2 dogs. Libi & Digz were my heroes especially when my ex left and ended up abandoning them. If I didn’t have them I would have been lost. Unfortunately Digz needed to be rehoused & through loneliness Libi sadly passed shortly after from loneliness. I miss them both so much. Our bedtime routine and daily walks, bath time and morning walks and coffee 😢😢. Libi was a mini dashhound rescue we saved from a terrible life & Digz was a mini Pomeranian we got as a wedding gift. I miss them both so much and I’d give anything to see them again. I just hope they remember me and I gave them a good life 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Another amazing video guys 🥰🥰

What a week it's been. Two of my favourite TH-cam dogs have both passed your beautiful, gentle lad Dexter and the lovely Sherpa the husky. I've spent most of this week in tears thinking of you all, knowing the pain you're in. The heartbreak does lessen, but they're always in your heart, they are family. What spectacular scenery!! The bridges were beautiful, even if I had to train myself not to duck. I'm gutted about Dexter. His being so vocal may have been him telling you how happy you made his life. Or, he somehow read Jenny Joseph's poem "Warning" and was living the dream. RIP sweet boy. You won't be forgotten.

You were blessed to have his unconditional love for so many years, which makes his passing so very hard to bear. When a furry family member passes over rainbow bridge the pain is unbearable. They definitely leave their pawprints on our hearts. Dexter has left his paw print on so many of our hearts. I am so sorry that your Dexter has passed away. I was brought to tears at the end of the vlog. I am sure that loosing him has left a very big hole in your hearts and your narrow boat must feel very empty without him. It is only within the past year watching TH-cam have I discovered life about narrowboats. It is so incredible that I can be sitting in my living room in Victoria, BC, Canada and feel like I am traveling the canals with you. Popping into your lives and getting to know a little bit about you and growing attached to the pair of you and Dexter.
Life is stressful, but when it gets a bit too much I know that I can find peace and comfort, and an escape, by watching your vlogs.

Of course by now we know about Dexter and have already conveyed our condolences on your FB page. A world famous dog. Looking at him here makes me think he had quality of life to the end. That is as good as any of us can hope for. You both clearly doted on him and were always there for him - even if one of you was working the other was there almost all the time. On top of that he had a wonderful few years on the canals and rivers where he had new sights and smells to investigate all the time. Compared to the average pet dog in a commuter town where they are alone most of the day and get a 10 minute walk or are simply shoved into the tiny back yard for a while when the family gets home Dexter had a great life.
It is two way traffic. The two of you have had your lives enhanced by having Dexter too. On those cold or wet days you have still gone out for a walk for Dexter's sake, but also benefiting you and also having a joyous welcome when you arrive home after a hard or bad day away from the boat. That is as good as it gets all round really.
We have a couple of cats. (We live in a Muslim country - there are dogs, but very few.) It just isn't the same. They are not as affectionate and there is no way to take cats for a walk - they just don't do walks. This means that if it rains or is too hot (never cool, let alone cold) we stay indoors. I hope you do get another dog - for the sake of the dog. Any dog would be lucky to be with you guys. There are plenty of dogs in need of a home with good people like you.

Dexter lived a really happy life and it took me back when I lost my 2 dogs. Libi & Digz were my heroes especially when my ex left and ended up abandoning them. If I didn’t have them I would have been lost. Unfortunately Digz needed to be rehoused & through loneliness Libi sadly passed shortly after from loneliness. I miss them both so much. Our bedtime routine and daily walks, bath time and morning walks and coffee 😢😢. Libi was a mini dashhound rescue we saved from a terrible life & Digz was a mini Pomeranian we got as a wedding gift. I miss them both so much and I’d give anything to see them again. I just hope they remember me and I gave them a good life 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Another amazing video guys 🥰🥰

What a week it's been. Two of my favourite TH-cam dogs have both passed your beautiful, gentle lad Dexter and the lovely Sherpa the husky. I've spent most of this week in tears thinking of you all, knowing the pain you're in. The heartbreak does lessen, but they're always in your heart, they are family. Your last cruise withhim was so beautiful and so fitting. I hope you find some solace in having had a peaceful, beautiful cruise surrounded by the nature that you love. What spectacular scenery!! The bridges were beautiful, even if I had to train myself not to duck. I'm gutted about Dexter. His being so vocal may have been him telling you how happy you made his life. Or, he somehow read Jenny Joseph's poem "Warning" and was living the dream. RIP sweet boy. You won't be forgotten.
