Can A Level 1 Player Get to Herbivore Island Safely?

- A while back I made a video, Ark Herbivore Island Why Build Your Starter Base Here? and it's been one of my best videos on the channel. I wanted to go back, and Ark being Ark, I always end up going back haha, especially to the Island map.
I was thinking how I had given people great advice on why Herbivore Island was great for a starter base, but I hadn't given much thought to how they would actually get there, especially if playing on an Official Server/Settings.
What I wasn't counting on, was how tasty I am to the many sharks in those waters haha So many sharks!

I love how when I was a new player there was no information on herbivore Island I just started where everybody recommended besides herbivore Island never heard of it before and honestly because of my galeophobia I'd probably never go over there anyway
Always a pleasure to see a fellow uk gamer playing Ark pve. I enjoyed your relaxed, informal, chatty style. As for getting to Haven (Herbivore) Island then, as you found out, it's simply a matter of avoiding sharks, by carefully luring them away from where you are going to make your swim. Oh, and 26:38 was a delightful wiggle. Good work to you for going third person for that, and great work to the devs for making things animate so beautifully.

made it at level 10 with upgraded stats on speed and stamina and checked if the water was clear of megalodons 💀 it was worth it in the end

I had one run where i was level 3, with all my points on oxygen, i managed to be insanely lucky where the sharks didnt see me but 20ft from the island, one spawned infront of me.
always the way. if Ark can mess with you, it will definitely mess with you

Start in South 2 there's 3 journals. You'll be over lvl 16 in minutes. Raft ready.

u need fast swim dinos to not die
I can't get to it or leave it, with a raft(for tames that cannot fly) and I tried to tame an ankylosaurus and bring it back to my base off herbivore island, but the leedsichthys just keep attacking me. Anybody know any way around this?
Where is the Leeds? Maybe try a direct route straight through?
Make a second raft and lure ffs Leeds into the bay
Tame a sarco and use it as a guard dog when crossing
Just tame a dodo to fight the megalodons

I went to herbivore island level 1 andddddddd I made but with very close calls with the megalodons in the water
The second time I was level 50 taming a pterodactyl and I ran out of stamina and fell in the water and my pterodactyl got killed but I swam away rip pterodactyl that I didn’t get to name
I got a grave stone and said rip Nameless Pterodactyl

Yeah those megalodons are ridiculous now. Probably worth taming a few.
Maybe next time you tame one have it follow you and go kill a few things on the island to get some xp on it
I love herby island but I hate how long it takes me to get to lvl 16 for the raft
Love the name. Kill things, build things, make narcotics. Used to be a trick of making cloth hats as they are cheap to make.
If its single player boost your stats.
Ive started streaming a series on herb island. My xp is 2x and I had a raft within an hour
Get a moschops as they're great first tames

That’s a pickle also my tribe mate is on the island with me and he is the laziest ark player I’ve ever seen he sits around and asks me to get him food I’m just going gonna leave him now
@@idiotman950 ha make a wooden cage and put him in it with handcuffs. - You could farm keratin off ankys and stegs so you can get a saddle for your pteradon. Or jump on a tame and swim the route i did the video, the stegs should be able to tank shark bites long enough to get you off the island

@@MarcoPolo-kb5dj for a long time it was oxygen that affected swim speed, rather than the speed stat.
Has it changed?

Of herb island? Its in the bottom left corner of the map so maybe 80, 10? Not sure tbh

@@baboonermanboo9458 crafting is the best way to start. Tame a trike and use it to kill everything. Collect the narco berries with it and let the meat spoil. Making narcotics is great for leveling up
In mean time, you could make loads of cloth hats as they are cheap. Gather resources. Set it to make a hundred and go ark for a while

That's the bottom island, Herbivore Island on the Island Map.
This was on Evolved. I think Ascended is tougher
I genuinely don’t know how but at level 1 when I 1st figured out how to get to this place I swam and made it no sharks nothing. I’ve never succeeded to do that again but I guess nothing dangerous spawned near me.
it depends on the server i guess and when the dinos are spawned in - i have done with no sharks and I've done it with more sharks than is necessary haha - thanks for stopping by and checking out my video

in the last couple of days ive restarted this map a few times, when i got to herbivore island yesterday, there was an alpha mega rummaging in the lagooon that obviously i ignored, a few minutes later i find its corpse face down, poor guy mustve tried to eat the rocks or something. today i went there again and found a ginormous rafthating maniac fish camping in front of the lagoons entry, and a basilodon was sleeping in the lagoon-it later beached itself
sounds like you are on the BEST server haha - what did you get off the alpha mega? any good tools? the leed is a great source of fish prime, and the basil is my fave fish. That guy can take out alpha megs
@@Pubcrawler644 i think the meg dropped me a blue chitin chestpiece and a helmet skin, the armor piece sure helped mitigate the constant cold weather i was having
@@Infernalicon once you put points into fortitude you should be able to cope with the weather extremes

@@okiokjhb pteradon. Shouldn't have attacked though. They normally fly off. If you agro the land Dinos, trikes, stegs, anky, they will attack but there should be no danger on there. Must have been unlucky

@@Parmesan2309 well the beauty of the game is it's just one place to start. I outline in another video why it's great to start there. But there are other cool areas too

Not sure if the turtle is faster than you when swimming. Haha will have to try it
