I don't usually leave comments, but I have referred to this video a number of times. Although I have a hosting account with Bluehost makes no difference. What is important is how to configure Gmail and SMPT2GO which is consistent. SMPT2GO has been updated slightly since the video making it easier to copy and paste the CNAME scripts. I would also like to add that you have a clear and thorough way of explaining step by step what to do. Well done you.

For those who are getting the error message :550 that smtp username's account is not allowed to send while trying to send a mail You will need to go on godaddy.com and add 3 more DNS that will connect your godaddy domain and the SMTP2go You will find the required DNS information to be added in the SMTP2GO webpage under Sender domains. It will work instantly after this
Go to the SMTP to go page, under settings to the left you will find "sender domains". Click on it and you will find 3 DNS informations there. Now go to your godaddy page (where you have previously added DNS settings) and add these 3 DNS there, it will work instantly

If you don't have access to a cpanel, then you can follow this video. These are the 2 most common situations where you might not have a cpanel (and you can follow the steps in this video to get your email): 1. You have purchased 'managed wordpress hosting' from godaddy (like we recommend in our videos), instead of regular linux hosting. 2. If you only own a domain name and have not purchased a hosting account. In these 2 situations you can use the method shown in this video, to get your business email.

I too have the problem of verifying SMTP for the last part (to remove sent via). I later have the problem resolved. If you watch the video carefully there is a note at TXT Hostname. Instead of using the domain name I change it to @ and there is also a note below the CNAME Hostname. I removed the domain name just after the word domainkey. It works after that.
Good Video!!! 🙏. I just have one thing to add. It may help others. At the end of video for the "Via Sent By" step. In my smtp2go senders domain DNS records panel. It did not list any "Types" as (text). It only list "CNAME". So while in the Godaddy DNS config panel. You do not need to add the first (entry add) as type "txt"....instead Add it as CNAME and then the entire host name instead of just the website name. By entire it should be a "letter&number.@yoursite" Other than that, everything else should work. Of course this may be different for others, but i just thought i would add to the conversation. Everything was going well until I actually added my new domain in Accounts and Import in Gmail. It added the account but it just wouldn't send any emails from it. I keep getting this error message: 550 that smtp username's account is not allowed to send. EDIT: I finally just followed the last steps of the video and it worked. But it took me about an hour before I figured out that this is what I needed to do, because on the video it was working fine without these steps lol. So yeah, you need to add the domain and then add the entries into the DNS page on GoDaddy. Also, I used the alternative host names (the ones that are after Some providers require entering...) because with the first ones I could not get them to verify.

I am 3 years late to watch this great information video. Just I found now you can skip the process of SMTP2Go now. In the add another email address just add your business email id password. Just verify the email by adding the code which you will receive on your business email id. And good to go.
It worked out for me, just 1 week ago, contact smtp2go support, ask them to enable send emails, they will ask you why do you want this service, u have to answer that u will only respond some clients that u will recibe emails from, that's it, the ultimate final step missing on the video haha
I think this needs an update to save confusion. Seems like SMTP have updated their verification process. i am not getting the TXT field but i managed to verify 2 CNAME fields. There is also a link field that needs verification which I have to speak to chat but to see what this for. the video needs an update because what was meant to be quickly ended up being an hour long to figure out myself.
@@jamie1614 You have to go on chat with them. What they explained to.me is the CNAME field.is just a new name for the TXT field. So follow the CNAME value until you get them both green (if it is not showing as green try refresh go daddy and then check again ) and then speak to chat and they will verify for you which will bypass that link question. as of early June 2019, GoDaddy discontinued the addition of email forwarding credits to new domain registrations. An Email Forwarding package with 5 addresses is available for purchase at $2.95 a year. They can be purchased by contacting customer support and requesting a Legacy package. it worked for me.

What @Esotericaaa is referring to is only adding "email forwarding". I can confirm the $2.95/yr price as I just purchased the same. ok so I fixed it. Under the hostname it has a note that suggest a name change. Enter that name instead and it should work

Motion Maniacs I copied the dns that smtp2go generated and pasted them to the ones in godaddy’s. Hope this help.

I can’t find my domain under the additional product,..there is nothing to redeem there. Where am I going to start? Truly appreciate your guidance

as of early June 2019, GoDaddy discontinued the addition of email forwarding credits to new domain registrations. An Email Forwarding package with 5 addresses is available for purchase at $2.95 a year. They can be purchased by contacting customer support and requesting a Legacy package. it worked for me.

What @Esotericaaa is referring to is only adding "email forwarding". I can confirm the $2.95/yr price as I just purchased the same. I also confirmed with GoDaddy that they did stop offering the free email forwarding with new domain registrations.
Esotericaaa does it mean you can only send business emails to only 5 people ?

Hi, this could happen sometimes. Just refresh the page and open the 'additional products' again you should see the email forwarding option :)

Change SMTP server setting in your gmail settings from smtp2go to smtp.gmail.com - worked immediately for me.

Since this, video has been outdated - would like to add one point that, in smtp2go - they verify your domain before giving out you the server, asking to put the CNAME details of SMTP2GO into the DNS tab of GoDaddy

Does it still work? I saw on godaddy's website that they dont include that service anymore with a new domain purchase. I've just purchased a domain and i can only get the forwarding with my old domains...
Godaddy is not providing email forwarding for FREE so it doesn't works for new accounts
