Well that was a fantastic Trilogy you and Ricky provided for us all there Phil. Looks an amazing place, your were very lucky Phil… 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 Thanks Phil and Ricky…. 🙏 👋🏼 🐟⛩️
Yes it was! Probably a once in a lifetime opportunity so I’m extremely grateful for the invite 😊. I’m now looking forward to the Battle of the Breeders on 27th April 👍
What a place to visit, you have been blessed Phil. 2 years in the making sitting patiently waiting to open his doors, he's a clever gent is Ricky. The koi look amazing 👏 Top footage Phil 💪
Thank you David. The invitation was unexpected but I was blown away by the time and effort Ricky put into giving me an in-depth tour and the fish……..mind blowing 😊
Awesome stuff Phil, a great 3 parter 😎 Very good of Ricky to have you up there after the charity collab, you sounded very in awe😅 with good reason! Top stuff again, take care🙏
Really enjoyed watching all 3 episodes Phil, a great insight to KW, and the unbelievable dedication and knowledge of Ricky, his passion for the welfare of Koi. Top Top Stuff.
Thank you Gary, much appreciated 👍. Being honest I was so busy gazing at all the fish in each pond that there were times that I forgot to point the camera at what I was looking at. Lucky for me, there were stunning koi wherever the camera was pointing. Thank you for watching and commenting 😊👍
Ha, ha🤣👍. We all start of thinking we know what we want until the bug really bites and then we wish we’d done everything different/better😊. Unfortunately the fish down my trousers were flapping about too much so I had to put them back, plus the water trail would have made it look like I’d wet myself🤣😂👍. Joking apart it was the best experience in my koi keeping journey to date, it’s going to take something pretty mega to beat it (perhaps a trip to Japan🤔). I’m taking part in the battle of the breeders event so can’t wait to see what we get to pick from😊👍
No problem Sam, it was an absolute privilege to be invited and taken on a tour of such a mind-blowing facility. Ricky is an absolute genius in terms of selecting and raising/developing grade A+ koi, I genuinely have never seen anything like it. I’ll be dreaming about this for months😊👍
Great coverage Phil really enjoyed watching all 3 parts, some amazing fish sorry all amazing fish, what a privilege to have been invited to cover it. Your going to have to go a long way to Trump that mate well done 👍🙏👏
Phil Sorry to disappoint you but there is NO way you are a NORMAL hobbyist any more - you are twice as far into the next league as I'm dragging behind in the lower league!! Ricky has magic nets!!! What a collection of fish, I think I'm finally getting this quality lark - used to look but couldn't reliably differentiate! Does anyone have a Time Machine that will take me back about 4 years - would have to take my new found ambitions but also the chastening from my cock ups. As you've seen my pond is 2' in and 2' out of ground and 8' sleeper by 2 8' sleepers, filter only a 220, filter house like a rabbit hutch - so much now that I wish I'd done. Was so sure I knew what I was doing - what a plank!!!! But then I was not too bothered about garden centre Koi (no ambitions for decent Japanese koi!) Again super video, brilliant place, super knowledge - did Ricky find those two fish you'd slipped down the legs of your trousers????
Sorry - that comment from me was a ramble, but 20 years back was mentioned. Given the TH-cam info available and the pictures/videos of fish my plans would have been so different (my Tosai are now heading for twice what I'd been expecting them to reach) so pond needs to be bigger!!!! As now does the filter that should have handled the size I was expecting. These fish from Ricky are absolute wonderful beasts. After getting this visit sorted if I was you I'd be buying lottery tickets!!!!
The colour of the pond water is for nurturing. A proper distinction should be made between displaying and nurturing, and it is not advisable to net the KOIs unnecessarily and frequently in such an environment.
Absolutely agree about the pond water colour, the results of the koi development Ricky is achieving serves to show that his water is designed for nurturing and not displaying. Thank you for commenting 👍
