I personally wouldn't want Ashita no Joe to get a remake since I feel like they would not be able to capture what anj really is and was.
Same howwver there used to be a vid of joe giving his white ashes speech to noriko and I felt it was really beautifully done however it's not on youtube anymore.
I feel like they could definitely do it justice if they just stick and adapt to the manga and not change anything (minus maybe the length of matches and dramatization)

I got into Ashita no Joe through Hajime no Ippo and sort of seeing the two combined is art
I would pay a lot of money to make this a reality
I want a remake. Look how good megalox did. Get a good studio that wants to honor ashita no joe. Add the flare and weight of the punches and even the gloom and dispare. I hope all the voice actors are still around and ready for one more go
The only voice actor who's still around is Joe's. All of the other main voice actor's have sadly passed apart from some like Carlos' (s2) and Yoko's (s2).
Also, I feel like a remake would ruin AnJ or at least they wouldn't be able to capture what anj really is. It's perfect as it is right now and it doesn't really fit in with today's anime.

The fighting scenes in this are epic, if ashita no Joe got a remake fighting scenes like that really could elevate this masterpiece of an anime, I wish it gets a remake that's amazing and I can live and see it 🗣️

At first I was like "wtf is this megalobox-ass shit" but then the song grew on me, pretty sick theme but doesn't fit the elegance AnJ is supposed to have. Then again, this is for a video game, not an anime, so it makes to go for something epic rather than elegant.
Megalobox doesn't have that much "action", at least not like the rest of shonen nowdays. In my opinion still is one of the best series about boxing out there, and the best one as a tribute for ANJ.

No lo sé, no me gustaria que cambien cosas como el soundtrack o que cambien el diseño de los personajes aunque sea solo ligeramente para que los personajes se vean mas atractivos para un público actual o la censura que le pondrían, en especial al pasado de Kim-Yong Bi, entre otras cosas, este anime/manga merece más reconocimiento en la actualidad pero un remake creo que no sería una solución.
A menos que hagan una pelicula que tal vez haga llamar la atención para que vean la serie de los 70.

@@supdog8786 every “true” fan knows that this series doesn’t need some remake shit, its style back from 60/70 still amazes today. It isn’t even that much popular to make a proper remake of it. Like sorry to say that but AnJ fanbase is so small that it’s just not worth. They even made a Megalo Box (garbage parody) which was supposed to be a ASHITA NO JOE 50th anniversary project and it turned out that it got more popular as an independent title than Joe. Like there is a higher chance for next Megalo Shit 10 seasons than for any remake especially a good one for AnJ

But we wouldnt be there forever and the more time pass, there's less guys watching old things.. This classic would be completely forgotten among others of his era..
We lose NOTHING with a remake. Even if its bad, we always have the original manga and animes to watch, so just dont make sense dont want a remake of something you like..

No dudo en que con AnJ se haría un espectacular trabajo y siendo algo más fiel en muchas escenas al manga (la verdad no me gusta como adaptaron las escenas finales del manga al anime, qué es esa mamada de mostrar las reacciones del público y todos a la muerte de Joe, el manga trata de retratarte qué al público no le interesaba como estuviera el perdedor más que el ganador, lo crudo del boxeo en ese entonces y hoy en día, y el misterio de saber que ocurre después de la mítica final página de Joe sentado en la esquina). Realmente no le vendría mal en lo absoluto ser remasterizado, MA bien le ayudaría a tener más alcance hoy en día y a ser valorado por en esta generación por la excelente obra literaria qué es.
The only problem with a remake is the series becoming a little more childish to reach a wider audience like they did with the new HxH or the Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Other than that, a remastered series would be awesome! Just cutting all the repeated shots and enhancing the overall quality of the other scenes

easily could be down for this. Ashita no Joe had a ton of amazing moments, but episode to episode is plagued with the legitimate weaknesses of the era it was made in (awkward voice acting and pacing, too quick of cuts, character designs that looked hella frail and small, etc).
would love to see a proper remake just to add a punch to that final moment (and they better damn well use the same song at the end)

I watched like 10 minutes of the first episode. You can tell how aged it is. It’s still visually appealing for media in that era. The only downside is the audio quality for me personally but at the same time what do I expect from an anime thats half a century old. Hopefully it can get picked up again I think it can rekindle that popularity it had back then

Definitely cool, but I appreciate the older version for just how insanely raw it was. I'd prefer it doesn't get remastered, since the clean linework and upgraded cinematography and flashiness of the dust clouds, steam, and action lines would make too much visual noise. Just blood and punches, that's all we need.

what about a continuation instead of a remake? lets say joe was in like a coma or was close to death maybe even talked to rikishi for a brief moment remembering all of his battles and fights with him remembering his promise to rikishi of becoming one of the best professional boxers, I was honestly thinking making the bridge gym and yokos gyms become one to maybe exploit joes and miss Yoko unfinished relationship and joe has to become a more tactical/ less of a reckless fighter and more of a refined of the basics and cautious/smarter boxer making his way up to basically become the next rikishi of course the idea sounds half baked but please let me know what you think?
This would simply ruin main theme of joe character. The only way possible to do this is do alternative story line, where for ex. Rikiishi didnt die and became a champ, and then u can do stuff w Yoko and else, but this wouldn't be same AnJ as og one

I think that if ANJ gets a remake it would ruin the show esence with today's generic vibes.
