Josh. Thanks for the tip. I use DI water every time I use my 1622 but did not know about the fresh water flush at the end. I have not had any trouble after having used it for about 4 years. Guess I have been lucky with no corrosion that is visible. Pump runs good. I did have an issue with a DI cylinder gasket blowing out and feeding media into the pressure washer. That caused the plunger that activates the on-off feature to malfunction. After a lot of trial and error, I back flushed everything to get the media out and have had no further problems so far.
Great videos very informative. I have also been looking to find a video on how to keep pump safe during weeks of not being used. I have been told using marine/rv antifreeze to keep it healthy reason I ask is because my well water isn’t the best and don’t like the fact it sits in the pump.
I am a Detailer and plan to only run the Highwater through my tank, but I’ll be sure to flush it with hard water every now and then thanks for the great tip
Many thanks for sharing, I had heard this about pressure washers and DI water, but could never find a definitive answer until I saw this. I have been flushing after each use, whenever I use the DI vessel, but never quite sure if I am flushing enough. I usually remove the gun and run the PW open ended for about 20 seconds using tap water, is this enough to flush out the DI water?
Good morning @carlosdiaz-ih9sh . Using any mildly acidic cleaners (one restore, bar keepers friend, or even vinegar) you can buff the brass back to life. Please note, if left to long the brass will begin to look unnatural to a degree so be careful how hard you polish it.
Good morning, When tackling the negative effects of RO/ DI water there wouldn't be a benefit to running a protecting lubricant through the pump after the fact. The purpose of running fresh water through the pump is to basically 'replace or replenish' the minerals in the metal that was removed from the DI. Most pump protecting lubricant's will not aid with that.
Thanks for the tip. I have a different question. I just bought a Kranzle 1122tst and it’s short cycling every minute when im not depressing the gun. I have zero leaks and im also only using all Kranzle accessories, no aftermarket accessories. What could be the cause and how do i fix it. Will it hurt the pressure washer if i leave it like that short cycling in the long run? Thank you
Hmm. If you are certain there is no leak anywhere, line in, line out, hose, gun jet, or chemical injector...even a small drop.. anything that causes pressure to drop.. If YES, then call Josh Lee or open a support ticket at KranzleUSA.com. 800.544.1188
Josh great video thank you, does the kranzle have any issues pumping the water through the deonizer? Should it be plumbed --- WATER TANK to DEIONIZER TANK to KRANZLE? no additional pump to push it through?
Yes, that would be the order of things. Tank > Deionizer > Kranzle. You'll want a bypass valve. No need to use deionizer water except for the rinse. You should not need a booster pump if the distance is not to great. Check out the video about connecting to a water tank.
Funnel and hose works. Check this video on winterizing a pressure washer. Josh is wearing the APW hat in this one. th-cam.com/video/4peYMWry4T4/w-d-xo.html
Any way to plumb a DI system on a gravity fed tank? I'm running a 1622TS gravity fed from a 125 gal tank on a mobile unit. Would love to have DI as a final rinse. Thanks
Yes..maybe. The Kranzle pump is self-priming. So, it will pull water. Though, the DI system might have to much "barrier" due to the filtering material.. Give Josh Lee a call to discuss. 800.544.1188 M-F 9-5 EST.
Hi Josh, I live in Calgary Alberta Canada, and was wondering about winterizing my setup and if it’s ok to run antifreeze through my system for the winter months, it does get down to -35 sometimes and it isn’t possible to have the rig in a garage. Do you have any suggestions?

Good to hear all is working again.

Good choice.

Give it a solid minute to flush with the full 2 gpm.
Mr Josh how can we clean the brass around the outside of the kranzle?

Would using a “pump protecting lubricant” work using every now again. I use STA-BIL for reference.

Ok just heard around the end of the video about antifreeze haha what is a good way to get the antifreeze in the pump?

Yes. Use RV Anti-freeze.
