The God Who Weeps and Gives Life (John 11:32-44 Sermon)
Before Jesus raises Lazarus, he takes a moment to weep. This moment in the middle of John 11 teaches us a profound lesson about suffering. God will step in to save us, just as he saved Lazarus, but it is good for us now to learn how to sit in our pain, as we wait for Christ to fulfill our hopes.
This is a WELS sermon on the readings from Year B End Time All Saints Day: The Church celebrates those who have gone before us, who have fought the good fight and now stand victorious with Christ. We look forward to joining their number. Readings are Isaiah 25:6-9; Revelation 20:4-6; and John 11:32-44.

The Lord Gathers His Own (Jeremiah 31:7-9 Sermon)
มุมมอง 3019 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Many are saying that we live in evil times. Many predict disasters to come. But the real question is how do we live right now? The Scriptures record thousands of years of God’s people living in different times and places and from them, we learn to live in our own. From Isaiah 31, we learn of the hope God gives us in evil times by which he gives us strength to go where he leads, to do as he comm...
Jesus is True Greatness (Isaiah 53:10-12 Sermon)

Worldly greatness is about self-promotion, but Jesus shows us true greatness is about self-denial and seeking the glory of God and the good of others. Hate Evil, Love Good (Amos 5:6-7, 10-15 Sermon)

Our lives inevitably reveal what we worship; that is, what we most fear, love, and trust. Few things show what we most value as clearly as our finances. As Christians, who have been blessed with the eternal wealth of heaven through the poverty of Christ, we have a duty to use our finances in ways that glorify God and that serve others. I ran a lawn service crew for years. I could outwork anyone, but eventually learned by training the guys to work as a team and keeping an eye on them rather than working myself, we got far more done. Eventually the guys I trained became crew chiefs themselves, and I supervised all of the crews. Teach a man to fish, don’t give him one.

Thanks for the comment. I don't believe I claimed it was the end in the video, but the Bible speaks of the end in such a way that calls us all to be ready at any moment. I'm not sure I foresee worldwide revival. As I understand, Christianity is growing quite quickly in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, though many of those are new Christians, not necessarily needing revival.

Why do Christians never address the fact that ZERO evidence exists of a movement of a couple of million people in the ancient world such as that of the biblical report? They seem to ignore the notion that Egyptian was THE superior nation at that time. So the utter destruction of it would have been noticed across the world. As a cultural and business hub, they wouldn't have been able to keep that a secret, and yet there are no records of that. Also, no record whatsoever of that many people wandering the Negev for that long - no bodies, no trash, no animal sacrifice bones, clothing, broken buckets, not one shred of anything. I go with the idea that the Jews in exile collected stories into a tome to present to Artaxerxes to "prove" their sovereignty as a nation and their eligibility to be returned to their lands. Pretty "David and Goliath" tale that also never happened. And even if it did, the people stopped in a territory held by Egypt so in essence, they never left.

Thanks for the comment! Give the video a listen, if you get the chance. With Bible interpretation, the first step is always understanding the original Word in its context before applying it elsewhere. God's blessings!

@@northwoodstripastor i always had a way of communicating with the bible. In there God is saying for Israel to change and become a holy nation or he will bring the gog and mogog prophecies to pass! And that every soul is going to God right now as we speak! The dark clouds could block the sun for a while but the sun doesn't stop shinning above the atmosphere.

This passage from the Book of Deuteronomy is a good one to read during the Season of Lent.

Yeah, I am often really impressed with the lectionary readings. They set the tone of the Church year seasons well.
