Crazy thing is when I went to the store a few months ago, curly was sold out and coily was fully stocked... I wish more women were accepting that we have type 4 hair and that’s okay. But! Please don’t use this product, the shampoo took my hair out in clumps, so much so that I went and grabbed my old shampoo mid shower before I made it through washing 2 sections 😩🥺like CLUMP CLUMPS 😬
Kinda feels like the only people that like FoB are people getting paid by them lmao I think part of it is that the cost of FoB is really high and at that price point, there are way better products
Also I did no vibe with not having access to a full ingredients list before I buy, perhaps I am dumb or theyve since added it but yeah im all about being an informed consumer
I looked into them a couple of years ago and didn't go ahead as I read the reviews. Also if I remember correctly, when doing the quiz, they didn't ask about porosity which for me is very important.

It’s not specific to 4c. Your pick you hair type 1-4 and then what you hair goals are. Then you pick a scent. You can also name the product you created
They're actually being sued by some customers cause of some of the ingredients they used to use (i think they've changed that and rebranded since) and by others for the hair damage in recent times. Wouldn't risk it personally
Getting water in your eyes while washing your hair, happens to me all the time. I feel like I've spent forever trying to master not getting product in my eye. Pray for me😅
Try tilting your head back when you apply shampoo. And when you wash your hair, instead of putting your face towards the shower, put your back towards the shower head while still tilting your head. I don't know if you do this already, but I hope this helps. :)
I’ve been learning to wash my hair by having it fully on one side. It helps a lot and everything gets rinsed out. Lastly, I keep a wetish wash cloth that doesn’t touch soap/etc and clean where my eyes burn. But only with a small section so that it doesn’t spread the product.
FoB was not for my hair or my daughter's hair....but I wasn't about to throw it away. I use on my dog's hair. Her fur is so soft and smells amazing now 🤣🤣🤣

You never know there might be some key differences between dog and human skin that you may not have even thought about that might affect how each reacts to certain substances. We don't know what we don't know so that's why I think It's always best to research just to be safe you know...
It's a shame content creators don't share their bad experience as I don't just want to know what works, but also what doesn't. I understand it's complicated to do a bad review on something that was given or for which you were paid, but it's still sad.
Ikr. The people that actually tried function of beauty on afro hair that weren't sponsored gave quite negative reviews. Their products may be good on straight hair (even then idk any creators that use function of beauty products without being sponsored), but I think other brands such as miss camille rose and auntie Jackie's etc are better and cheaper (Price varies on where you shop though)

i think for influencers it might be better to try the brands different products first and if they like it only then decide whether to take the sponsorship or not.. plus having the discussion with the company as to whether they d b ok with neutral review going out d b good too.... and they don't need to pay if the review is negative but as long as review isnt exaggerated the creators should be allowed one i guess.(cuz even tho review is negative it ll still give the TH-camr views so its not entirely a loss for the TH-camr to do the review despite it being a negative review and it not being paid for the review).. that way it gives ppl more room to be honest...

So just delivering the news, don't shoot the messenger. & the reason i said views is because many people after this would want a silver lining.. & there are people who do unsponsored review that look at it that way.. So i get both sides & i wonder how they are going to come to a middle ground with this. Company wants a perfect job & not negative publicity but youtuber needs to still be paid. I tried this a few years ago BEFORE they came out with all this extra stuff for different textured hair and it did not work for me. I’ve been side eyeing ever since. However, after this review I think I will give it another chance ☺️

I use function of beauty and I'm literally ADDICTED. My hair is super dense 4a with 3C in the front and its super moisturizing and my curls define so much more easily now

I tried the Target version, I LOVE the shampoo but the conditioner didn't have the amount of slip I need for my hair.😩 (different strokes for different folks of course) now I want to try the online version 🤔

Congrats on the sponsor but I'm giving this the side eye. This be the side of TH-cam that worries me because viewers are often glossy eyed over their fave YTuber just like they are with celebs and that can cloud their judgement. Yeah, everyone is an adult and can make their own informed decision but this just seems scammy. Not like illegal or bad just biased and questionable because of the direct pay from the company. But YTubers do need cash or we lose their content. But since it's a sponsor, a lot of those concerning things about the company wont get addressed by the content creator either.

This company is being sued for causing many people's hair to thin and straight out fall out, some had long term effects and had to seek medical help to recover and you don't hear much stories about that effect from a single hair product

I was so dumb and didnt check the ingredients very well when i did the quiz and choose aensitivr scalp care which put menthol on it which really was so irritating and even hurt a little thinking of buying again anyway to give it another shot without that bad ingredient but not sure yet.
Opened a tab to do the quiz and started typing "function of beauty" in the search box. The thingy that suggests words as you type popped up with "lawsuit". Possibly a frivolous one but... uhhhh. Still a great review as usual!
It unfortunately isn't frivolous 😬. They're in the hot seat because they put high proteins ingredients like rice water in alot of thier products. Because it's specifically (kinda) tailored per person they don't give each person an extensive ingredient list. The issue comes that alot of thier customers over time suffered from protein overload and subsequent breakage and didn't know why was happening because they didn't disclose/ emphasize that the products were high in protien so ppl were accidently over using.

I actually really like this brand personally. I got the target one first and it has definitely helped my hair especially when detangling and curl definition. But always remember everything is different for everyone

When i get some money I’m trying this brand because I have 4b hair and it’s medium porosity and high porosity on the edges and the products I were using made me need to do a big chop when I just reached 7 inches now I’m back to 3 inches unfortunately
Unfortunately, I had to discontinue my subscription to Function Beauty membership. I struggled rinsing the product from my hair, which always led to flaking of the scalp! 😒
I haven’t used it in awhile but it made my curls come out a lot. I always felt my hair was dry after but that might have been me doing the LCO method which I stopped (haven’t used the products since then). I also stopped all oils and leave in conditioner and like 98.5% of my old stuff. But like I said never really had a problem I liked their products

if all else fails you can add additional oils from your own collection into this product, if your weird enough
I actually really like this brand personally. I got the target one first and it has definitely helped my hair especially when detangling and curl definition. But always remember everything is different for everyone

When i get some money I’m trying this brand because I have 4b hair and it’s medium porosity and high porosity on the edges and the products I were using made me need to do a big chop when I just reached 7 inches now I’m back to 3 inches unfortunately
it's better u avoid this company. This company is currently subject to a lawsuit and FDA investigation over causing hair loss..

Unfortunately, I had to discontinue my subscription to Function Beauty membership. I struggled rinsing the product from my hair, which always led to flaking of the scalp! 😒

I haven’t used it in awhile but it made my curls come out a lot. I always felt my hair was dry after but that might have been me doing the LCO method which I stopped (haven’t used the products since then). I also stopped all oils and leave in conditioner and like 98.5% of my old stuff. But like I said never really had a problem I liked their products
