Oh gosh...I'm in heaven. There are now words to express how I feel about Larry Jon and you are correct...this is the best version of this song. I have much admiration for KK but Larry sings his song with such sincere storytelling you listen to each and every single word individually and the 'story' is forever embedded in your memory long after he stops singing. I could just sit at his feet and listen to him all day. His warmth and spirit are like a blanket on a cold winter's night. Thank you
@@Piddlebutt805 Thank You for responding. Were U acquainted with Kris? I was. AND 2 songs he wrote were about me. The pseudonym I am using is just that. IF U R acquainted with Kris & know how 2 get N touch with him, ask him if He knows Don Bailey.
I would say Kris heard Larry Jon's version . Kristofferson described Karry Jon as having a voice " Like a Cannonball..". I would say that is a very apt. Description
wow!! Best version YET imo. To me, like a gift sent from heaven is better than ain't it just like a human. I do not like the word human BECAUSE I know what it originally meant. Like a gift sent from heaven, here comes that Rainbow again.
Why must it always come down to some kind of competitive comment. Both artist did it very well in their own interpretation. It then becomes just an opinion of ones taste in listening. Kris and Larry both are an inspiration for me.
Like a gift flowing down from heaven, here comes that rainbow again.
Lovely. Larry Jon Wilson was something else. That voice - like a warm fire or a hug from a friend.
that’s great storytelling
stuff like this stays forever in our memories
i don’t need no social media🙈

Larry Jon came from my hometown and I knew him. He and Kris Kristofferson were unknown struggling musicians and songwriters together in Nashville.

Nice interpretation of this Kristofferson song. Thank you.
Love this , thank you ❤️
Thank you thank you.
This is a good solid version but Sammi Smith's version is majestic and magical, a whole 'nother level.
Fine guitar playing. But nothing and no one compares with the original and with Kris.
