Ammar is a prime example of how the saddest people are often the most happy on the outside. No one would ever guess from seeing Ammar on video that he struggles with depression. I like to think I'm a little bit like Ammar, I'm sad myself so to compensate I help other people out as much as possible and try to make them happy instead.

YES MY FRIEND!!!!! I've been unhappy for almost 30 years and for a long time I just faked it, cause NO ONE wants to be around someone who is sad all the time!! Realizing this, I decided that if I was gonna have anyone in my life at all, I would have to fake being happy, after years of practice you get really good at stuff!!!
Then I figured out that helping people when they are in need and not asking for anything in return was an amazing way to make TWO people happy at the same time!! Now it's just about the only way to put a smile on my face! There's nothing like surprising a total stranger by pulling over to change their tire, or whatever else they need at the moment! It turns out, it's also a very good way to meet some of the most beautiful people on earth too!!!

The 1st time I heard the song 'Tears of a Clown' Smokey and the Miracles, I believe I was 6 or 7 y.o. and it's been my favorite song ever since the moment I heard it, at 45 y.o. that still has not changed!!! If anything, age has made me understand it even more, which keeps it true and at the top of the list for me!! Especially when Robin died, it just made me think of this song and the lyrics.....but in a lonely room I cry, the tears of a Clown', when there's no one around.....

It is so bizarre the amount of crazy adventures you guys are able to experience and also the achievements you have as a TH-cam channel, community starter etc, and yet again it can be seen that it is not about what you did or how big your status. Argh! I love how you keep mentioning Wim every time you reflect on how much you learned from that experience. I watched the video a while back via Sky’s channel and felt so empowered to just go for it. I’d like to someday meet you guys, Wim too and go through that experience myself. I’m even planning on making it my ritual every morning to get in cold water and sit in it for a while. You’ve grown in that experience, I don’t know if you’re aware(I’m sure you are haha) but the reason I say this is to give you an idea of how inspiring it is for a viewer(myself) to see people unlock so many parts of their brain and slowly and eventually exist fearlessly. Well done but I hope this video doesn't encourage inexperienced hikers to run off and do Whitney. You should have experience in the mountains, can confidently scamble, know how to use your ice axe and self-arrest and know where your limits are which only comes from experience. Only after those boxes are ticked should this mountain be attempted.

@@eveeAndO Anyone can get a permit, and going with an experienced person decreases risk in some aspects (not a lot), but people still make mistakes. Even with proper guidance, small mistakes can lead to horrible accidents
when i was younger i actually always told myself (and everyone who would listen) that i would climb mount everest before i turn 22. i’m 19 today and watching your videos just reminded me of my plans i made as a kid. i’m now starting university and i doubt i will be able to do it, but if you guys get any chance to do anything like that in the future i would be more than grateful if y’all considered taking me with you!! cheers xx

I say thus in the most loving way possible as someone who also desl with mental health struggles (ptsd, depression, anxiety) have you ever spoken with a professional? Doing something exciting will temporarily make you feel happy and distracted but you may find that you continue feeling depressed if you don't go to the source of the depression .

Living in Austria, climbing mountains is my way of seeking discomfort. Next to the view-expanding experiences of the mountain itself, it opens a lot of opportunities to get to know strangers, sharing an experiences and overcoming obstacles.
watching this video made me surprisingly emotional. I’m realizing just how scared I’ve been to live the life I’ve always wanted. Watching you conquer this mountain and always live your days to the fullest inspires me so much. Here’s to seeking discomfort and starting the life I’ve always wanted💪🏼

I climbed that mountain this last winter. It’s not a easy climb. Love climbing mountains. You meet a lot of incredible people. I wish more people had these guys drive.

I’m actually going hiking with my friends for one of their bdays coming up in 2 weeks. I’ve known these guys for 3 years and they’ve made such a big impact on my life and I’m so grateful I got to meet them. We’re all headed off in different directions now, but I hope we can keep in touch. I know it’ll be hard with one of us going to Virgina Tech, one to Notre Dame, one to UNLV, and the last one of us going into the work force.
Having a few really good close friends is so much better than being acquainted with a lot of people. I know these guys have my back no matter what and I can’t wait to see where the future takes us. And we surprisingly didn’t even go to the same high schools, I did meet one through school, but I met the other two on Xbox and we became great friends. We’ve drifted away from video games, but stayed close and we have the luxury to go to the gym, play soccer, d&d, swim and just hang out and have fun. I’m glad I’m a part of the yes fam and hope all of you are too.

This was epic! The top two things on my YES LIST (not bucket list 😉) are to hike to Machu Picchu and to base camp on Mount Everest. What an epic feat!

A little late but this was amazing! This is the stuff from Yes Theory that really inspires me the most and got me hooked in the first place. I hope your main channel can continue putting out stuff like this too :)
You guys should climb Gannett peak in Wyoming! Its the tallest mountain in Wyoming at around 13,800 ft (I know, not a fourteener), but it's possibly the most remote high point in the US, being about 20 or more miles from the nearest road. It's remoteness makes it a very spiritual hike, and you can also see the entire milky way on a clear night, which brought me to tears when I saw it. A lot more out of the way than Whitney or other fourteeners - but worth it for sure. Just make sure you bring crampons for the glaciers!

At 27 you have the mind of a much older person. the entire crew is like that. Most folks in there 20s are still acting like kids. Great role models for our youth. Nice work crew. Wish I would have found folks like you in my younger days. Now I am trying to show my kids the way. Get the kids off their games and into life
I have the same thoughts and my 21st birthday is just around the corner. I have no experience about long distance running (I did play sports tho) so to challenge my body and my mind I said YES to a marathon which is a month away from now. I guess you guys are getting under my skin every time I watch you guys.

This video is just amazing! It reminded me of the fact that I wanted to go hiking more often this year, but since I don't have a driving license I'm kinda stuck to the place where I live and I'm dependend on friends to drive me, plus it can be dangerous to do these hikes alone, so I decided not to do it, but I decided to push through to get my driving license now, so that I can do some more hikes this year!

Whitney isn’t “America’s tallest mountain”, Mt. McKinley (Denali) is. Whitney is the tallest in the “contiguous” states, not continental.
Whitney is hard but not hard hard. Not like an Everest or even close to Denali. I mean cool they did it, not that great though. Then again I am a Mountain climber so maybe for a non climber it might be super hard.

😇Thank you so much for this video!! 🙏It brought tears to my eyes and brought back so many memories! In 1979, I helped rebuild 2.2 miles of that trail from Mirror lake to Trail Camp. We lived at Outpost Camp for 2 months and it where I conceived my twin boys!!

not being able to go on a trip since the pandemic first hit, I felt like I was there with you guys on the climbing journey, I am an absolute lover of mountains, it's an incredible feeling, a mixture of emotions, thank you Ammar, thank you yes theory, and everyone who helps making these sort of amazing videos
Mountains are a very special thing aren't they??!? Every time I see them, it feels like I'm seeing a very old and beautiful friend that I haven't seen for years!! I've spent a lot of time, by myself, lost on a mountain, intentionally, and it's one of the greatest feelings there is!!! The worst part of the whole thing, when it's time for me to leave. This last time, I cried, for miles and miles. I whispered under my breath to the Rockies, until next time my very beautiful friend, thank you for being there and thank you for making me feel the way you do! I think that's how I need to spend the 'twilight' years of my life, in a home I build with my own hands, with absolutely NO ONE in view at all. That would be my definition of contentment.

Last week I fished my climb in humpta pass in Himalaya it was 14,000 feet and I know how hard it is to climb, and I am not a pro. It feels good to watch these type of videos.

I just wanted to say thanks to Yes theory, I pulled the trigger and hiked up Mount Greylock which is the tallest one in Massachusetts with my twin 8 year old boys was best feeling and view. So amazing in you to do that 10 years younger then myself.
You guys should climb Mt Elbert in Colorado! It is the highest mountain in the Rocky Mountains and it is a fourteener. One of my favorite 14ers!

A while ago you guys asked for pitch ideas for videos on Instagram. My best friend and I are big fans of your content, and it has inspired us to seek discomfort anyway we can. However, myself and him came up with different ideas for a pitch, and I’m not lying to you when I say that my idea was to climb mount Whitney with you guys. (I got screenshots to prove it!) He told me that it wasn’t a great idea and I never submitted my pitch.
If this video taught me anything it’s that I should’ve stuck to my gut and pitched the idea. My goal is to climb Mount Everest one day, but I have a very long battle to overcome. I’m quite overweight, but I’ve been hitting the gym and working on cardio to prepare me for my goals. And while living in the great Prairies of central Canada might not be a perfect spot for mountaineering training, I’m eager to embrace the discomfort and continue pushing for my dream.
Amar, if you’re ever open to the idea, we should try knocking off North America’s tallest mountain, Mount Denali in Alaska, which is also the tallest mountain in the world from Base to Height. (Above sea level.) You’ve recently gotten into skydiving, but how about adding Mountain Climber to your long resume. It’s going to be challenging for the both of us, but the experience of planting a Seek Discomfort flag on its summit will be a life long memory I will never forget.
Nature has such an epic way of healing us, and helping us realise what’s important! I’ve definitely added mnt Whitney to my list!
I just came back from my holiday in switserland was planning to do a trip with a guide to climb and walk in the glacier that was around 4000m above sea level. I have never climbed but always did rly long hikes sometimes hikes up to 10 hours! Sadly my dad and I both got covid so we couldn’t do it... so it’s rly cool to see you climb that mountain and kinda makes me jealous!
