Sometimes you need something and EvilBay has it, but you payyyyyyy. I know, trust me. But where else ::.. Like watching you. I’ll be changing out my friends 37 trans next week. Cheers 🍻 👍👍👍
I just got 1937 ford sedan With changed flat head (engine) Not sure what I got Not sure of what flat head , it has helmet style distribution in its Leaning a lot from your video s ! Thanks
I have a '37 slantback 2 door sedan. I was going to hire out the clutch job but couldn't find anyone who wanted to do it, will do it myself now that I have room in my garage. How did you know you needed a 10" instead of 9" clutch?
The clutch size is determined by engine year. I'm running a 1946-48 59AB and that takes a 10" clutch. I believe the stock '37 85 hp 21 stud uses a 9" clutch.
Thanks for sharing this conversion! 'Interesting about that mount for the right-side motor mount being removable. Smart thinking using the longer bolts to start the clutch, too! The whole clutch thing had me cracking up...is the bottom half of the bellhousing part of the oil pan on that flathead? Enjoy! Be safe!
Yes, the oil pan has the lower half of the bellhousing. It's a hold over design from the T and A engines. When the Y block came out in '54 that disappeared.
Do you want to use a torque tube transmission or open? If torque tube and you want the shifter on the case, you want the '39 transmission. If you want a side shift transmission, torque tube, use a '40-'48 transmission. If it's open you can use any Ford 3 or 4 speed with a flathead adapter. You can also run late model Ford T5 5 speed with an adapter. Just Google Ford flathead transmission adapter.
Awesome clutch action, getting them bolts in looked fun. She looks awesome. Thanks for the video
I hope it shifts as good as it looks.
Thanks for sharing this! Great job! She's looking Really Nice!!
Thanks 👍
160* thermostats...Didn't realize the old Ford flatheads ran that cool. the
build is looking good!
Since some flatheads could run hot I wanted to get the cooler T stats to get the coolant flowing faster.
Every expensive part will pay off for a super nice ride. You are progressing fine on this project. Nice work!!
Thank you.
cool louvers on the inner fenders !

@@QuickSpeedShop I look forward to more of your '37 Ford vids. Last year when I needed clutch help, Zero 1937 Ford Clutch specific vids on TH-cam.
Thanks. I'll get it back out in the spring to finish it up.
This makes me glad the 8ba I have has a removable bellhousing. Did you make that engine hoist plate and cart?
Yes. Made the plate. Cart is a shopping cart minus the basket.

Hi Guys, what is the Centre Bearing Part Number? - gonna put one in my racing spares box...
I don't know the part numbers. You can look it up at Speedway Motors I would think.
