    Another argument to goon tape, fighters in hockey are sometimes known as “goons”. It’s a great concept!
    Now I know I can just use my extra hockey tape on my grip! Thanks for a great video.

    Recently ive been using the ultra cheap hockey tape from Walmart (like $2.50 a roll) and love it. The cheap tape seems to be less tightly woven, meaning a little more grip but less durable. You can't beat granular/skateboard tape for grip but they suck for ccw. Hockey tape doesn't irritate the skin all. A tip for the Hockey tape though is to not tear the tape but cut it, and round the corners. This helps prevent the peeling up of the tape.

      Would like to have Talon Grip "rubber" tape on the grip on my Sprinfield Ronin EMP. Aesthetically, black or moss would not work for me. I would only use a clear or a silver that closely matches the frame coating. Does Talon Grips have any plans to offer the "rubber" tape in clear or silver? Thanks. Great video.

    Smooth surfaces like PVC are going to provide much better adhesion than say a pistol with texture and sculpting. I have used the rubber grip tape from Talon on some smooth surfaces and it has held fast for years, and even with daily use I only wore through one spot, and another spot is just now starting to really feel like it could use a refresh.
    This being said, if you want to have something like Talon Grips really stick for the long term, it might be worth knocking down whatever factory texture came on your pistol.
    I'm interested in trying some extra grippy hocky tape as well, but right now I'm going to let these Handlitgrips I'm trying do their thing until they start to peal off.

    FYI. You are using isopropyl alcohol, the right thing for precleaning before applying the tapes. You keep mentioning rubbing alcohol which contains lanolin. No oily chemicals should be used to preclean before applying anything with adhesives. The gummy residue could have been cleaned with lighter fluid or a product called GooGone.

    • @CRoutdoor
      @CRoutdoor  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CEclips You nudged me down an interesting isopropyl alcohol vs rubbing alcohol rabbit hole for the last little bit haha. It was a welcome nudge though because I had never heard that about the lanolin and wanted to learn more. But, I can't seem to find anything that says rubbing alcohol has lanolin in it. All I'm finding is the different ratios that exist of isopropyl alcohol to water; many of which are commonly or alternatively referred to as "rubbing alcohol".

    Talon rubber and pro grips are completely worthless. The rubber adds literally nothing. They serve no purpose. The pro does add a little grip but for the most part are also worthless. If the granulate is a score of 10 for grip enhancement, the pro is like a 3 and the rubber is a 1. Rubber is terrible. Pro is almost terrible. The pro also wears off FAST. 1,000 rounds and it’s coming off in places. 1,500 rounds and edc for a month and it’s worthless.
