    I love this tune. But now when I see your playthrough I can't remember ever watching something remotely similar. It's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. F me. I'm feeling I'm high as a kite. Can't count it and can't fathom how and when you change between different drumming genres and whatnot. It's amazing. Thank you so much. What a hero drummer.

      I suspect that Gavin would accentuate a dotted 8th-note throughout to give a consistent pulse, and avoid the stuttery feel of a 13+11 beat :)

    brilliant playing Leo. This is how to make complex patterns and odd times sound musical. I Wonder whether you could you could provide a music sheet (if there's one). I noticed you always play with the butt end of the left hand stick forward - do you feel the extra weight changes your snare sound dramatically?

    @sourceofmary1326 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Léo, I wonder if you do respond. My kind of playing and huge respect for how natural you prove one can get from such modern prog music. I wonder how much you decide on what you're playing in Pain of Salvation in a ratio (that's kinda subjective, don't give me a number, haha, I'm just trying to be specific) to what Daniel writes. Basically, how do you compose together? We're strong fans in the band, but we never met in person, so if you want to influence a band during a pandemic, we listen.

  • @jaredw.7712
    @jaredw.7712 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My question is do you count in your head while playing? Or do you just 'feel' the song and play from your gut. If you count how do you count? Also, how do you guys go about writing a song that uses such interesting time signatures. Do you start out by picking the time signatures you want to use or a riff? Anyways, this song is great. Your playing is fantastic. I hope when COVID ends you can come to Utah so I can see you and buy all of your stuff.

    • @LeoMargarit1
      @LeoMargarit1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There’s no way to count at that speed so I just sing the melody to myself to keep track of what’s going until I don’t need to anymore, but it takes a while with a song like that :)

    • @LeoMargarit1
      @LeoMargarit1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Daniel wrote it but I think he just comes up with the melody without thinking too much about the time signature...
