Can we use common annode display in stead of common cathode displays , any change required in Circuit diagaram

I bought a kit from eBay a few weeks ago. It is a smaller (12 mm), stand alone unit. I paid US $ 2. I haven't yet assembled it. Yours is big. Can you give an idea about price? Most of the time, readymade stuff are cheaper. You can get a 25 mm size display clock with alarm and a nice radio at around US $ 8 (the cheapest brand). But the real satisfaction may be building your own. Thanks

hi! nice job! i have a question on our code, i don't understand the utility of the "int Digit[6]" part, can u explain please??
I've read that 2.3 inches displays requires 20 or 30mA depending on color. To sustain the same level of luminosity when using multiplexing, I assume a higher peak current should be used. To be more precise, each segment gets switched on for 1/7 of the time and each digit gets switched on 1/6 of time.
Since CD4511 has a maximum output of 15mA and there are 6 digits, a digit gets maximum 15/6 mA, i.e. 2.5mA when it is switched on. But it is powered only 1/7 of time. So the equivalent current that powers a segment is 2.5mA/7 = 0.36mA. At this current I assume the display will be visible only in dim light.
What is your opinion?

Hi Friend, I like this video very much, i am also having this project at university. So I use six digits seven segment common anode and arduino uno to make a stopwatch, I mean two digits for mil-second, two digits more for second and two others digits for minute. for my living room but I can't find any
"6 character, 7 Segment displays run from Arduino which are not all linked together.
Meaning, all the tutorials are for 7 segment , 6 character displays.
Not 6, individual character dispalys, all linked together... the way you are doing here. This is the closest I have found so far, to what I want to create.
Any schematics or code would be very appreciated! I'm a novice to electronics but i can follow directions and my soldering skills are above average.
To sum up. I am in need of:
Schematic of 6 "single character", 7 segment displays run from a Uno. If possible. With 2 blinking colon leds would be ideal. I can figure out most of the build if I just had a schematic explaining how to wire more than just 1 single character, 7 segment display, to an Arduino...

No capacitor require for RTC ds 1307.
RTC Ds 1307 's Pin 1 & 2 is open?
No. 32.768 khz crystal oscillator connected with pin 1 and 2.
Best option, use a pre-made DS1307 module... It has battery inbuilt, and reliable....
You just have to connect the A4 and A5 pins of the UNO to SDA and SCL
And power pins to 5V and GND

For this video i am using common anode 7segment display. But in this video i am using common cathode 7 segment display. Both 7 segment output pins are same .
why did you connect pins 2,3,4,5 of the 78HC595 to the display + pin.
There is an error in your circuit. I could not run your circuit on the proteus
The pins 2,3,4,5,6,7 of the 74Hc495 connect to the 7 segment display common (cathode - ) pin for multiplexing.
Which display are you used ?

5V max and always treat them as individual led, so use 330 Ohm
We had used 8x512 led scrolling. Same is displaying in first 3 matrices and the same is repeating in rest of 3..its not continues.how can I overcome with it.
I don't know how your ckt is working cause you have connected "E" and "DOT" of display so they must glow together but in video they don't. I don' t know how you managed this.... please describe
E and Dot pins are not short here, they are common pin of 2.3” display.

When you have a micro like the Uno with 14 D & 6 A I/O pins, why would you make a design using shift registers & 7 seg drivers? They are totally unnecessary.
You assign 7 D pins to LED segs and 6 D pins (1 each) to the six individual displays. 2 A pins carry SDL & SCA lines to your RTC chip. You still have 4 A and 1 D pin left open.
