GW2 WvW - HOLOSMITH is the new META - Holosmithing Zergs vol. 7

Holosmith gameplay with a mix of clips from December WvW zergs fights.
The latest update, especially the Chronomancer buff, has shaken up the WvW meta. This has elevated Holosmith to one of the two main DPS in WvW zergs (alongside Berserker). Holo brings outstanding burst damage and strong areas attack thanks to its Elite skill: Prime Light Beam
This is a result of changes in the meta: the top zergs are now stacking support classes (3 in each party), making them very tanky. The fighting style itself is starting to resemble the one known from the Chinese server: standing in one place and dueling by the numbers: the one with better sustain and the ability to generate the highest DPS wins. In this context, Holosmith and Berserker are among the best specializations.
Unfortunately, the new meta also has a downside. In my opinion, the fights have become somewhat dull. WvW now involves standing in one place and pressing buttons. I hope that this issue will be promptly addressed, perhaps through a significant nerf to the third support class, namely Chronomancer and Scourge. How do you like the new WvW meta?

There is not one meta Holo's build you'd play. Many things such as weapons, sigils, or even some traits you can fit to yourself. Yesterday, we had a raid with 5 holos in the squad, and everyone used a different build.

From my understanding, one of the things that makes Holo so OP compared to other classes is the fact their Prime Light Beam Elite skill is unblockable, that makes up a massive amount of their DPS output looking at it on Arc, about 75%. I see so many of my attacks being blocked...

Sometimes you have rifle, others hammer, which one would you say is better or is it more situational on how aggressive commander is atm?

I prefer a rifle over a hammer personaly. It fits better to Holo in my opinion. Rifle 2 and 5 are great source of damage. Additional Rifle 2 is med-range skill that combo very well with damage from Explosive Entrance trait. Overall, a rifle brings damage, but you can hammer or even sword/x if u wanna do it and know how to do it.

Wvw meta does seem very dumb, which is already true for most zerging gameplay. I prefer small scale. Nice showcase and gameplay though!!

Btw pirate ship was way dumber than this. Ppl kept going back and forth for minutes without committing shit, just waiting for enemies to make mistakes.
For me, this meta is great because it rewards those who put effort on boon application and setting up the comp.
