How awesome! Please upload more!! I am looking at adding some scrimshaw work to a rigging knife handle. The original handle is being replaced with bone, not sure what kind yet. Would you be interested in doing the scrimshaw work? It’d be an honor.

Is there a way to fine polish by hand? Came across a coyote baculum that I am considering shaping into an ornate toothpick.

Hi, sorry I just saw your question. Yes you can however you need to sand the bone with several different grits of sandpaper before polishing. You can start with 100, then go to 220, 400 and 600 if you can. The higher the number the easier it will polish, especially by hand. Lastly a jewelry polishing cloth works best as long as it doesn't have a polishing compound imbedded in the cloth. Some have a red rouge and it may stain the bone. I recommend Sunshine Cloth if you can find it. I do sell it but I am out of stock. I will likely be ordering so if you can't find something let me know.
