@sd lm I think the musicians and staff didn't know just how bad it truly was- until it was too far gone to get under control.. The panic that set in after people began to get trampled caused an all out chaotic situation... Mass hysteria too control, and that is what was DANGEROUS .. After they created havoc while crashing through the barricades, and running over others, Security should have done the same as you mentioned- SHUT IT DOWN!.. That's something those people will live with for a long time.... Take care, dearest...💝⚘💝
That lawyer to the right of him looks so disturbed and you know this isn't the first time he has heard this story. @@00st307-m it wasn't mosh pits that caused the issue. They over sold the venue. Organizers ignored warnings that 50k ppl was too many and that the audience area layout was unsafe. Travis Scott encouraged fans to rush the gates if it was sold out. The barriers created choke points for fans and the layout didn't provide easy access for security or medical personnel to assist ppl. All of this was known before the first artist took the stage. True mosh pits have etiquette. A code of conduct if u will. Ppl who fall or need to get out are helped by those in the pit. The easiest way to describe how crowd crush works, not a stampede as the media keeps calling it since that would imply that ppl actually had room to move, is to stand up with ur arms out at ur sides and turn in a circle. Place 10 ppl inside the circle u created and then try to move even if it's just to redistribute weight from one foot to the other. Ur likely going to bump into someone, who in turn bumps into someone in THEIR hypothetical 11 person circle, and so on, thereby creating a chain reaction of involuntary movement. Multiple that by 50k in a space that provided something close to 1 sq ft per person and you've just created a disaster waiting to happen.
It broke my heart when he was holding back his tears. This poor man. It sounds like he was able to help others and paints the picture of this tragic event very well.
They left those people in a dungeon with animals to fend for themselves, then a horribly ignorant and supposedly blind and deaf and dumb ring leader to fire up the masses. No concern for life or safety at all.
The venue was over sold before the gates were crashed... Those extra ppl were a drop in the bucket compared to the extra 10k or so ppl who were sold legitimate tickets

TRAVIS SCOTT NEEDS TO BE CANCELLED. these victims and familys need justice , his bs apology was HELL
Theoretically, ur suggestion makes sense. But logically, removing the barriers when ppl had no place to retreat to would have caused an avalanche of ppl to fall to the ground, leaving them to likely be trampled by those behind them who hadn't lost their balance as they tried to escape the chaos. Even the footage from the front row... Those ppl were so tightly packed that u can't tell where one body ends and another begins.

I’m 5’0”. I can’t even fathom how a guy that big felt his life was in mortal danger; how did the smaller girls like me even survive?? And I’m sooooo tired of them saying only 9 died when I have heard countless testimonies of concert goers who witnessed several deaths around them. THERES NO WAY ONLY NINE DIED. Side note: God bless that beautiful man right there. And all of the attendees who showed their GOODNESS that night. This was good vs evil imo. Brought out the absolute best and worst in people.
This actually happened to me at Chicago's Riot Fest in 2013 and had terrified me from being in large crowds ever since. At least 6 people were taken to hospitals when people surged forward during Blink-182. I wasn't even near the front, but got pushed further and further in. I couldn't breathe and then I was knocked down and people were stepping on my chest. I thought I was going to die, but luckily two big guys noticed me and were somehow able to pull me up and lift me above the crowd to crowd-surf to safety. I have no clue who they are, but I believe they saved my life. Who knows how many people this guy might have saved just by keeping his head and being physically strong.
I'm so grateful for this man and all of the many other attendees there who were heroes and helped pull people up who had fallen, lift out those who were suffocating, pulled people over the railings to safety, those who were actually performing CPR and providing medical help. Who knows how many more deaths and injuries would have occurred if they hadn't stepped up and done the right thing, and it wasn't even their job.
I saw an interview where the girl was holding hands with someone else: I wonder if this is him. Praying and hoping you all get some good therapy, feel loved and sue the living shit out of those at fault.
it reminds me more of the 1979 The Who concert disaster in Cincinnati, it's a lot more similar 11 people died and off young age from the teens to the late 20's , in the Hillsborough disaster was way worse 97 ppl died.
Unfortunately this has happened many times over many decades and it will probably still happen again after this horrible tragedy, because it's very difficult to manage a crowd of that size.

@sd lm I think the musicians and staff didn't know just how bad it truly was- until it was too far gone to get under control.. Some of the most badly hurt were children - one 9 years old 🥺 they shouldn’t have even been allowed to be there at this kind of mass moshing event

I'm so grateful for this man and all of the many other attendees there who were heroes and helped pull people up who had fallen, lift out those who were suffocating, pulled people over the railings to safety, those who were actually performing CPR and providing medical help.
