- Gautam Gambhir is a former cricketer, who is known for his candid demeanor and calling a spade a spade. He currently serves as a Member of Parliament for the BJP from East Delhi Constituency. He played a crucial role in India’s victories in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Gambhir also led the Kolkata Knight Riders to IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. His foundation also runs ‘Jan Rasoi,’ providing food at a symbolic cost of 1 rupee.
In the latest edition of ANI Podcast with Smita Prakash, Gambhir openly discusses his cricketing and political journey. He argues that Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan were underappreciated in Indian cricket for their contributions.

BJP can be really stupid at times, that evil MLA who started campaigning against him, I mean wtf. It's all about the leadership.

When Croatia lost in the Football World Cup Final, their PM also went to Croatia’s dressing room to meet their players and this gesture was very very very appreciated… if PM Modi would not have visited the dressing room after the match, the same critics would curse him even more and fairly so…. The gesture of visiting the Dressing Room and encouraging the players at the most difficult time after the WC loss was amazing and much needed especially for the players and support staff as a fan n supporter

What is wrong in taking a cameraman? Why were Indian players making videos of fielding medal cermony during the WC? Why can’t you think this way - the way PM supported the Cricket Team after the loss, with his video, he wanted the World to see and for the World also to support the Indian Team especially at that moment of sadness n difficult time and not ridicule the Team n bash them on media n social media and every where else….

GG is a good man. He does not seek good PR or wants any unnnecessary limelight on himself. A very upfront and a transparent person, he does not give you an impression of a perfect man, rather someone who embraces what he is made of. There aren't a lot of people like him and it takes a lot of blunt honesty and bravery to become the character that he is.
