Cross Winds Airport (C72) - Abandoned

- Cross Winds Airport in Clayton, WA was abandoned after a 2014 windstorm destroyed two of its three hangars. The airfield was tilled and turned into a crop field, and the last airplane, a 1948 Ryan Navion (N4616K), was left to rot. The hangar still stands, and I visit the Navion every summer because I can't help but feel sad for it.

To think that was once a shiney new plane, someone's pride and joy.
I’ve always been curious about this airport. Next time I’m by deer park I’m going to pay it a visit. Thanks for the video
I would be amazing to see the Navion rebuilt!
Poor ole Navion. Flown in one here a long time ago.
Wow what a pity
Sweet little plane in her shed... So shameful that some people broke the plexiglas windows !
Man, would be great to see someone get her and fix her up! At least drag her home and wash her!😢
it would cost more than it is worth
ive seen worse things be braught back to life. parts will probably be impossible to find but nothing stoppin it from getting certified as expiramental !
According to the FAA registry it is registered to :
BROWN RONALD D
1402 22ND ST NE # 268
AUBURN, WASHINGTON
Hey 395. Deer park
I landed there once in a 172😊
That’d take a lot of money to get airworthy, assuming you could even do it. It might be eat up with corrosion. Hate to see planes just sitting and rotting.
I know a guy that does that type of work!!!!
That Navion can be saved
Good luck, I’d love to see it fly again!
Sad old bird .quick get a battery and fuel
Obvious vandalism on this aircraft
Здесь когда то жизнь била ключом, что он там делает такой унылый, и забытый😊
These old airplanes are expensive to fly so the owners store them and forget them.
@av8r376 My grandfather used to own this aircraft, I would like to get in touch with the current owner would you happen to have any information?
Unfortunately I don’t, not beyond anything already available online. Looks like the current owner is Ronald D Brown, who appears to live in Arizona. Look up the tail number and you’ll get an address for him; couldn’t hurt to send a letter.
@therealjimmysworld now THIS would be a great "will it start" episode.
