The reason why I love jazz music.. No matter how short each piece is... You go on a journey throught the music and get lost in it.. a 5 min track sometimes feels more like 10 mins because your lost in the music.. Jazz music is one of a kind.
Lord we thank you...you have protected us and guided us.you have been our strength, our way out of no way,our confidant, our jehova jira, our jehovah nese,...our breath of fresh air. this is so emotional,im not a poet but it makes think of his grace and his mercy. For he paid in the form of blood shed, just tap into what he has already given you. God you are so awesom. Thanks Robert. God bless u bro. 1
WBGO is played daily in Brooklyn, - welcome back Rhonda Hamilton @ 2 Sundays Robert Glasper is always a PLUS. we go back to UPOVER/Flatbush AV....U are a musical GIANT....Peace.
Thanks Robert. I am taken back to a time when life was simple. Listening to this music enhances the peace deep within and summons the calmness all around me but just beyond my reach.
Sublime trio. Love the presence and depth of the bass , the impeccable time of the drummer, and the piano so beautifully clear and soulful. This is a masterpiece.
There is songs that you listen to, like, and forget about after some time. And there is songs like this. Songs that sound like there is no other way to arrange the notes on a piece of paper. Songs that sound like they have ever been there, and will ever be. To me, this is one of these songs. Damn Robert Glasper makes me spiritual!
Sensual, evocative, filled with the quiet longing of souls seeking justice, the impressionistic chords reminiscent of Shirley Horn, Bill Evans, the quiet side of Oscar Peterson, all blending together in a sound signifying a new confidence & a readiness to take one's place at the table of brotherhood.
Something that bring peace to mind in a world of heartache and stress,Yet gives us the motivation to keep pressing forward in spite of, a breif pause in life, getting a 2nd wind for a race we can't give up, the race is not to the swift but to those who endure to the end.
Even some 4 years later the video is still in Myrna just as fresh as I heard it the first time. This is a very clean piece. It'll be hard to forget combined with the various speeches sprinkled in. God stuff!
i wish they played music for me, when i walk everywhere. like the sound track to my life. so beautiful. i would be happy to die if this was the last piece of art that i heard
I just come back from a live of robert glasper experiment in paris. It was good as fuck, rob g. and Chris dada just kill this. and Thanks for the J Dilla Tribute at the end. RIP J DILLA.

I esteem Robert Glasper right up there with Bill Evans, Lyle Mays, Keith Jarret, Joe Sample. Truly an extraordinary musician.

man it's amazing when da glasper trio plays in time with the speeches. MLK swings pretty hard.
Jazz music is the best.
I could watch this all day
No matter what race you are, what country you come from- this piece is inspiring.
It's amazing that Dr. King's speech is so musical. Glasper accompanies his inflections so well.
I keep coming back to this over and over. Those opening changes nail me every time.
