Hey Rabeea, your videos are very insightful for ITLs and being one of them , i really look forward to different content that you post. Your experiences are really helpful. Thanks a lot again for doing this and sharing your experiences.
Did you gain any work experience before moving to Canada ? Like should a fresh graduate without no experience go for NCA process , bar exam and articling ? And if not then what's the ideal number of years you should have experience in your home country before you go for Canada
Nope. I didn't have any work experience. I had only done an internship at a Bank. Work experience is not mandatory. If you have some it would be great but you can always start somewhere.
Will an internationally trained lawyer who has been called to bar in Canada but didn’t go to Canada law school have as much job opportunities and be paid as much as those who went to Canada law school?
Hi Rabea, thanks a lot for spreading out such useful information! Can you please help me know whether NCA accredition is mandatory to work as an in-house counsel at a corporate/MNC? Also what are the job prospects for Regulatory Compliance role in Canada. Thanks:)
Hello Rabeea, by the term Internationally trained lawyer, do you mean to refer those who have cleared their NCA exams or also those who just have a Foreign Law Degree with or without any experience? If they include the second class of lawyers I mentioned, do such lawyers get work permits? Thanks in advance.
Hi ! so i am an internationally trained lawyer ( B.A.LL.B.-5 years ) and i want to apply to apply for an LLM may i know from which uni you completed yours and which one you would recommend and also the chances to get Permanent residency after you get through the NCA exams hope to hear from you soon regards
I went to Osgoode Hall Law School for a Master of Laws in International Business Law. It was a good program and I would definitely recommend it if you are interested in business law.
@@poojagandhi8181 Unfortunately, I haven't studied at UBC so I don't know much. Overall, I have heard greats things about UBC. So it is really your personal choice at the end of the day.
Vasu , i want to know if my points are 458 ,before entering in Austrailia, and if i get a work student visa for the purpose of getting in enroll in canadian bar, would that work permitt add points in my PR profile?
Hi, your videos are awesome! After listening you I think could apply for those jobs in an express entry program. I’m a lawyer since 2003, with a PHD in international law, human rights and education. You cleared my mind a lot with this information. Do you give any immigration advice or services? Thank you a lot!
Hi Rabeeda. Thank you for this video. I am an Indian lawyer having experience in the insurance field working as a liability manager. Would be moving to Canada next year post marriage. I would be deeply grateful if you could let me know the means to practice in insurance industry in Toronto. How do I get entry in insurance industry? Do I have to appear for NCA? Or is this work experience considered good enough to secure a job directly?
Writing the NCA exams is the first step in becoming a lawyer in Canada. If you want to practice law in the insurance industry then yes you will have to take the NCA exams. If you want to work as a contract analyst or a legal assistant then your work experience might be sufficient. I would recommend reaching out to someone in the insurance industry on LinkedIn and asking them these questions. They might have a better understanding of insurance than I do.
Ma'am I've a little query if you'd mind answering Ma'am after clearing the NCA, is it mandatory to get admission into LLM ? Can we go for Post Graduation Diploma Course in a particular law ? I mean after completing the course, am i eligible for articling and then writing the solicitor and barrister exams ?
The LLM has no relation with the NCA exams or the articles or the Barrister and Solicitor exam. It can give you a study permit and some networking opportunities. But if you can’t afford it or don’t want to do LLM, you could look at diplomas too.
You are doing really doing great job . I am doing LL.M in business law from Montreal state university. I am indian graduate lawyer .I Will be giving nca exam in future :)
Hi, do you think your Llm in another program was a better choice than taking the internationally trained lawyers pathway cause I want to go into international law for my Llm then write the nca exams separately but I don’t want to do anything that would regret so I’m trying to rate my pros and cons, please reply thank you

I am a law graduate from India without experience and haven't registered with the bar yet. Am I eligible to apply for NCA assessment?
Yes a qualifying law degree is sufficient to apply for the NCA Assessment.

Hi , I like your video but what a difference between paralegal and legal assistant ? Isn’t a same ?
Good question! No they are not. Paralegals are licensed by the law society where as legal assistants only have to complete a diploma.

Compliance officer! In some industries you can earn an Associate salary doing this.

Not understand 😁😁😀
How long does it take to be licensed , after you have given bar exam
Depends on if you have completed other licensing requirements. If you have, it should take approximately another 2-3 months.
