    I seen the thumbnail and now I’m looking at my tan blocks thinking they could be very old white blocks

    Looks like the result of staying white depends on the Set - Got the 8880 and 8480 - both very yellowed - used a long time for the bricks in the Peroxide to get them white - and after arround half a year the bricks turn yellow again. And the sets were build and didnt get any sunlight at all in a most times dark room. Only the white axles of that 8480 set didnt want to go yellow after all the years.

      It seems that there's just no way of knowing which bricks will yellow and which ones don't.

    For step 1, instead of washing one by one: put all the pieces into a bag for women's clothing and wash them in the washing machine under a delicate cloth cycle. I wash all my LEGO like that

    Hi, I did that process in a very large LEGO bricks not only whites affected by the sun during Years of been near a window in my parents house, and after a few weeks and other a few months the LEGO all became like Tan to yellow again. including minifigures and flags and wall panels etc. so I do not recommend do this process, it works great first time but the will get yellow again so if you repeat the process maybe will damage the bricks, I lost a few light gray plates as they were very old from a 80's space ship and they broke in the middle. so do it at your own risk

      Yes, I put the pieces in the hydrogen peroxide and then sealed the lid and left it out in the sun for a few days. There's no need to add any more hydrogen peroxide.

    • @greggriffin287
      @greggriffin287 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is for white bricks. For light gray bricks, use hydrogen peroxide but do not put them in the sun like you would with white bricks!

    • @greggriffin287
      @greggriffin287 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mike Nonya I read that light gray shouldn't go in the sun when using peroxide so I soak mine in peroxide indoors, but it sounds like it works either way. Cheers!

    • @GerbenWijnja
      @GerbenWijnja 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the sun is shining, and it's not cloudy/overcast, then 3 or 4 hours should be enough. You can use the hydrogen peroxide multiple times! It will lose its strength after a couple of times, and you will notice that less bubbles are forming. Then it's time to replace it.

    • @greggriffin287
      @greggriffin287 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GerbenWijnja thank you. I wish I would have known this before I put mine in the sun. 3 hours in direct sun was too long for my light blueish gray bricks. They look okay, but were over-"bleached". I should have tested just a few pieces first before putting all 200 in there. Lesson learned, the hard way. Hopefully others will see these comments and check their light gray pieces after every 30-60 minutes and pull them when they are lightened just enough.

  • @derekwagner157
    @derekwagner157 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    2 to 5 hours soaking in direct sunlight would have done the job.
    The result would have been no paint damage at all.
    Also use a glass Pyrex pan to allow more sun and better exposure for the bricks which would be more spread out.
    Finally 3 percent solution is fine.
