It's coming along exceptionally well. Very interested to see how the motion goes together for you.
Is there any chance you could make the smokebox print files available for purchase? I have one of these kits languishing in the heap of to-do projects, and I would love to be able to finish my example off with a properly fitting smokebox. I'd imagine others might be interested too..
    Cheers, Alan

Looking at prototype pictures the cab sides look shorter and there is only one set of vertical rivets. It almost looks as if the model has a half etch for a 90 degree bend, but I can’t imagine what for. Either way I’d check the dimensions as it may be the roof is ok and it’s the sides that are out. Looking good though!

Yes apologies, I didn't make a good job of showing the etched cab sides. They are designed so you can build the cab either as it was originally built or the GWR rebuild. The original cab was shorter (front to back) so you would trim the etch along the half-etched line at which point the roof would probably be the right size. I'm doing the GWR rebuild though so don't need to cut it down and only need to punch out one set of rivets. I'll try and remember to explain that properly when I get to assembling the cab for real.

Thanks. Hopefully with the plastic cranks from Mosskito Narrow Gauge I should be alright; much easier than laminating etched cranks and trying to quarter and solder them to axles!
As for the 3D printed smokebox, yes once I've finalized the design then I'll be more than happy to sell you one. If you want to drop me your details via my parts request form I can contact you when I'm happy with the design:
