Great show and old school tip of the day
60, 17, 14, had a small long kitchen with No sitting room. The present sitting room was an outdoor area. No dishwasher also! The Johnny had a lot of pots and dishes to clean and dry! No AC in the bunk room. On summer nights, all night long between fires you would hear the kids playing basketball across the street! The engine companies were lined up outside quarters like a cab stand. You just went outside with a box and address written on a slip of paper and told the engine upfront where to go! Oh yea, and a coal furnace that always was left to go out on winter nights! When 17-2 came in, they made some improvements! But that’s how most ghetto firehouses were!
Lmfao listening to his "formative years" stories! 😅😂
Great stories...reminds me of when the csu buffalos come to qtrs to chat.
