It's obvious his English was better than the Spanish of the interpreter. Sensible politicians don't give interviews in a foreign language as a quote out of context might make it appear that they say something different to what they intend.
Most of those people were toadies, stooges, and accomplices of the old regime. It was a wartime situation, and we were meddling and actively trying to kill him and Castro. The vast majority of the folks you're speaking of deserved what they received. Cuba's own history may have been quite different if Che had lived, and in a positive way. He was a brilliant man.
