    One the best clutch videos I have ever seen. Thanks

    Solid video! One of the only I have found showing how to do this on a YZ259.
    I have a Rekluse and the difficult part is adjusting the cable, at least for me.
    My cable has a ton of slack and slop. But the clutch works fine. But if I take out the slack it will stall when putting it in gear.
    I’d like to go back to stock. The Rekluse simply lacks clutch control. I can’t lift the front wheel with it. Very laggy and unpredictable. It tends to accelerate smooth but smooth while slipping the clutch. Even when trying to pop it.

    One thing you may have seen if into a Beta clutch, they put a spring steel ring around the basket, out at the end of the ears. To me that makes for a very strong basket design.

      Yeah. Super strong. YZ clutches are notoriously week.

    Couple tips from my frustrations; Heavy wedges and light springs on this bike are mandatory with rekluse! Hated mine at first, but it’s dialed now.. if you hear back and dude wants snap back, go straight to heavy wedges and light springs.. also you want to set it so it creeps slightly in first gear at idle.. that and power spring mod perfect.

    Never mind the O-ring Recluse should include a baby bottle, diapers and maybe a coupon code for a discount on a Whitaker chair lift system....

    My YZ Recluse cover was strait, think they need to send him a new one. Love the YZ X platform but by the time you get the auto clutch and upsized tank might as well get a ktm with e-start and larger tank.

    Very informative. Thank you. Is there any fine tuning for free play gain at the lever like the radius x? If not how do you lock the clutch back in if you need to bump start your bike?

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. No, you can’t adjust at lever like the X model. You’d have to take the cover off unfortunately. But the up side is That it has a kick start

  • @burstcasino

    Which model of Rekluse has the inner locked adjuster ring? I have a juice clutch on my used to be cable rmx450. The magura works great as is. Starts in gear and doesn't creep. Seems like the inner adjustment is a little more work but would be the ticket for my 450. I really don't wanna set the free play by shimming my slave. Thanks

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure for that bike but I think the Core

    • @burstcasino
      @burstcasino ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess the point I'm trying to make is your not really adjusting the clutch cable barrel to achieve the proper free play. Or as you call it "installed gap". Your using the internal hub lock ring to get proper clutch adjustment. Since the yz doesn't have a external hydraulic slave adjuster your trying to get proper free play with the internal lock ring adjustment. Or am I just confused?

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@burstcasino You are right. I just don't know what model clutch is the one with that adjustment. We don't install a bunch on YZ's and I don't commit the models to memory but I think the Core is the right model. BY THE WAY that is the model name of one of the clutches.

      I find people that make this comment hilarious. Especially when they stall their bike with their superior clutch skills, then cheat and use their e-start button to fire it right back up again. Maybe those with e-start should just sell the bike and buy a side by side.
