Man I needed this. Im a creative; artist background, now in ops last 15 yrs, trapped by student debt in startups but dismayed by having to follow. Always thinking of my own ideas. Just feel trapped. This is inspiring.
Thank you Oren for creating this space. It's such a great resource and it let's me know I'm not crazy for the way I think or process the world. Brother thank you.
Oren bro, nice to see you on longs, discovered you on TT. I resonate with product CREATION being VERY different than just rebranding and selling chinese products (typical ecom). I've always been drawn to true creation (think Kickstarter) and your videos are giving me a springboard to head back in that direction. cheers homie
Thanks for this. I recently had to relocate from a very vibrant city where I connected with so many people like myself back to my hometown where people are very close minded and don’t believe much is possible. Between that and post-covid disruptions in my creative circles, I’ve been feeling lost. Where I’m living now, the people I’m closest too just aren’t big thinkers and dreamers; they even look down on it and discourage it. It’s very difficult to stay inspired and motivated. Thank you for reminding me that it’s possible to connect online. I will have to put more effort there until I can get back to where I want to be.
I have done the same thing in last 6 months. From major city to small metropolitan. The key is finding things you like doing alone. That you can do around others. For me it’s fashion shows, car shows, gym, and bar games such as pool or darts. When you are in your flow state people will naturally be magnetized to you. From there you filter through the interactions.
Yeah I find it interesting how other creatives think on it as well - some people purely focus on the art and not function or commerce and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, I’ve just done a lot in consumer electronics where UX is hammered into you (for good reason)
The value you are creating is crazy, you can truly inspire a lot of people just cause you are so confident in the way you tell things. Gonna be watching every single video of you from this point on. I ve already watch the previous vids. The ideas just keep coming bus of the content you r putting content. Thx a lot
Been following you on IG for a minute and Love the gems. Only 1minute in and I like this more cause you can tell you’re freely speaking. Keep killing shit man 🙏🏾 🤝🏾
Couldn’t agree more with the spending money on bringing something to life/sampling vs that other thing you were going to buy, great mindset to have as a starting creator
Thank you for sharing this important philosophy. You so eloquently voiced what it is like to be a creative person with vague dreams of bringing things into the world. It is a lonely, hard labour of love that requires a lot of focused attention.
this is great oren, love the long form content. i've only been aware of you on insta but genuinely excited to follow along with more intentionality here
Your content is so helpful, I can wait to make friends in this space - with people who are also passionate about building their own ideas and bringing them to life. I have taken my time to go through every one of your videos, and even the podcast you were on, I think you have fantastic creative insight. I love how much information im able to use for my own brand which I have been building for the past two months, despite the differences between niches and types of business.

This is an amazing video. I am really trying to bring all my creative ideas to life. I am building a luxury streetwear brand and your videos have been really informative - both short and long form.
If you haven’t produced anything significant alone before, make the ideas you can complete and ship and get done and learn to be a builder who completes things. If you’re already capable a lot of that comes down to what you want out of life
I follow you on instagram and you’re truly right about having to work on your creativity in order to grow on it. Having maximum knowledge on a topic puts you in a position to be able to make that “thing” better. Question: what do you recommend for a person who isn’t in that creative community but feels he’s missing… how do I approach such communities with confidence?
Your videos on IG have inspired me to launch a product as a creative! Any chance you still do 1 On 1 consultations? Would love your advice. Thanks again! 🙏
Oren, curious if I’d rather make my own stuff for myself and get one off samples all the time, would the factories be annoyed? They’ll go: oh here this person is again doing a sample who will never bulk order from us!
Yes. In my case I am frequently bulk ordering but maybe 1/2 of what we sample makes it into production and we experiment a lot so there’s a lot of 1/1 lying around. That said if you are evaluating ideas or new vendors you’re paying for the samples and don’t feel bad about validating something you might then run later
Ironically one of the ideas I have been working on is creating a community for people with these ideas - holding a space for these conversations and offering resources/knowledge sharing, workshopping/accountability sessions. Know any good ones?
Would be cool to see you reverse engineer products. E.g. Pick a brand, and work through why they selected certain materials, find similar factories, talk about the logistics, guestimate numbers based on web traffic etc. I vote Thuma for the first one@@orenmeetsworld
I actually prefer the long form content over short, thanks for the upload.
Good to hear

THANKYOU OREN!! This is pure gold,- thankyou for your transparent and open insight on mindsets, and your personal experiences.
Appreciate it!
Interesting to see how others think and process, I’ve always had the “how can I make this better” but forget to ask “why” & “who”
Yeah I find it interesting how other creatives think on it as well - some people purely focus on the art and not function or commerce and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, I’ve just done a lot in consumer electronics where UX is hammered into you (for good reason)
My goat fr, your videos help me so much thank you

appreciate it, trying to make things widely applicable!
This is great. I found you on tiktok and love your content. I’ve had my brand for 10+ years and right now I’m in a rut. Hoping to get out of it soon!
Hard after that much time to have perspective, but I believe you’ll get out of it!
This was excellent 💯
Appreciate you!
Wondering if you could make a podcast out of this, or upload the youtube videos as podcasts. I would love to hear more of this.
Good idea, let me think about how that might work. I do still do the Builder's Build podcast but subject matter a bit different.

Thank you for sharing this Oren. My question is:
How do you filter/prioritize which ideas to build?
If you haven’t produced anything significant alone before, make the ideas you can complete and ship and get done and learn to be a builder who completes things. If you’re already capable a lot of that comes down to what you want out of life
love this, thanks!

Did not expect to hear K8s or AWS on a video about creative brandbuilding. Where did your get your dev knowledge from? Love it.
I’ve been a partner in an engineering agency for years haha
Have you released a video yet about finding and working with product developers?
Im gonna start calling you a pillow cuz people be sleeping on you 🔥
!!
dope sweater!
Thanks, one of my designs

I think it’s easy to bond over appreciation of interesting things - can build kinship in that in a very organic way by just sharing the excitement
@@orenmeetsworld yeah, i guess you're right.... then it would just stick with the right people.
I am lucky I found your content

I’m not doing them anymore, but always happy to try to answer questions in my content
any recommendations on who I could reach out for some advice on launching a product? Im totally new at this.@@orenmeetsworld
I am a creative builder, a creative special operator

Not particularly - but certainly a great opportunity
Do something on furniture design idc what it is just anything insightful.
Shipping complexities, factories, etc.
Will do - annoying logistics industry for sure

Great video...sooooo when is the first builders meet up?
Good question- trying to this year for sure
Awesome content man - Will drop you a DM (at some point!)
🫡
Great content! Have you thought about starting a discord (I'm sure you have) for everyone who might be in "creatives desert"?
Yeah on my future roadmap and really into the idea, but hard enough to juggle content and work right now
Is there a discord we can join?
Nah just the videos
I love you. Visionaries are the best people 🫶🏻
