    Honestly sell thee Limited Edition Switch games, they're all sealed and you have normal versions of all of them. I mean Cooper where on earth is all the Switch 2 stuff going to go?

    I would brace that top shelf with like a metal plate underneath branching from the 2 brackets to give it more support or something.

    For the majority of my common disc/switch games I've decased them and put the blank cases in storage - put little notes of which game was which so I can always reunite - but then I've just put the artwork into an accordian folder and manuals into a bin, and discs into a binder and switch games into a case. In your case you could free a whole wall and condense it down to a few 48-slot cases that are on Amazon - might hurt to do but thankfully most switch games dont have manuals or anything so youd just have to store the artwork ha. My strat probably isn't for everybody but just figured I'd mention

    I don't collect physical video games, but I do collect physical music, and honestly, moving everything around/re-alphabetizing/rearranging everything while spinning a record is one of collecting's greatest joys lol

    Spoiler, the bigger store is just for storage when the game room runs out of space.

    Go to your hardware store and grab a 4 inch flat metal bracket and screw it to the top or bottom of each shelf that's what I had to do

    I remember when I had this problem. It wasn't necessarily to this sort of an extent, but I remember deciding to rearrange my room any time I got something new that wouldn't necessarily fit as I wanted it to in my collection/setup. I did a lot of that and it drove my wife absolutely crazy, but it was actually very therapeutic for me to just put something like the Spawncast on in the background and spend a couple hours just rearranging or reorganizing things. I kind of miss that....

    I recently had to do some rearranging with my iwn collection. I'm still not happy about but it's better then things being squished together. I like to think that so long as you have standards of taking care of your things then it isn't hording.

    I don't have as much space as you to store my collections because I'm still in housing and I started putting a 3rd shelf in front of the other, that's what it looks like after almost 30 years of collecting 🤣

    Wii games have amazing ability to squeeze and adapt to new environments 🙂 I just bought old used shelf for 25€ and I will later check its compatibility for Game collection. I remember your video when you build those shelves and If I remember correctly there was also Kyle helping sawing with those pieces.

    Changing up and moving stuff around is always fun in theory but just takes so long and that's when the OCD really comes out for me 😅 What are your plans for future consoles, like the next Switch, space wise?

  • @godbilla1991
    @godbilla1991 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    get yourself a cordless circular saw and just chop a hair off each board. or if you have a buddy with a corded one. I know it's too late now, but next time you rearrange.

    For better or worse, I've optimized my games collection for loose carts and discs. Less space taken up for display, but running out of space in the garage for jewel cases/DVD boxes. A burden of our design.

    Might be a strange question, do you ever think of what you'll do when you're 80? Will you have sold all this off, (not sure if you're having kids) or hand it down to kids? Donate it all to a retro museum? You have an insane collection and it's just something I've wondered. What are your thoughts????

    • @SicCooperOfficial
      @SicCooperOfficial  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don't really think about it. I imagine I will enjoy my collection until I don't anymore, then probably sell it to help with whatever I want to do next in life.

    How often do you dust and clean your game room. I am finding even having a small room with stuff covering a whole wall that it is a chore to dust everything. Do you have any products that you use and love. I got a micro electric duster off amazon that I like.

    • @SicCooperOfficial

    Here’s a crazy idea….sell the lesser value games, there’s tons of them. Along with the useless toys and pointless collectibles and bam tons of space just like that. Otherwise you might just be a hoarder who thinks he’s a game collector.

      For awhile I've debated if I'm a game hoarder. Have more games then can play in a lifetime. If I hadn't discovered emulation I would've sold off my ps1 and ps2 collection a long time ago. I'm a sucker for being able to play games on the xbox 360 controller lol.

      Here's a crazy idea....let people do whatever they want
      If you've even seen a hoarder's stash you know this isn't hoarding

    • @zensai-gaming
      @zensai-gaming 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@maartenn2217 is your name cooper? I don’t think he needs you to defend him. He can do whatever he wants just like I can lay out any opinion I choose on his videos. No one is stopping him from being a hoarder. But if you’re complaining about space eventually you’ll run out of room. So logically you’ll have to sell things to make room for new things. So don’t be a sensitive @ss.

      @@zensai-gaming Hoarders don't neatly categorize and alphabetize their stuff. They just pile things up forever until they forget what they own and can't even access certain rooms in their house anymore. Cooper's collection is honestly no different than someone having a library room full of books on shelves, and I don't think those people have ever been called hoarders. There are definitely game collectors who hoard and can't part with anything they ever buy, but this is an example of a clean, well curated collection.
