- This was filmed during the rehearsal of the 2024 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix flyover.

I realize this is the wrong thing to take away from the video, but the cabin of that Gulf Air 787 looks incredible. Thanks for sharing such a unique experience with us!

Most US fly-overs are military jets, especially when close to military holidays. But I have to say flying a 787 like that, and riding in it, is unique.
well Gulf Air is owned by the government of Bahrain. So Bahrain can do whatever they want.
I’ve done a flyover like this in a private jet carrying last year’s champion for a particular race. Won’t disclose who or where though for reasons but it was badass.
F1 does no longer allow military fly overs. So “commercial”, in the Arab states obviously all state owned, airlines do this job (:

I would imagine the number of people who have ever been on a 787 while "Bank Angle, Bank Angle" blares out from GPWS is a very short list. Amazing video Michael!

Bank Angle is what the aircraft is "yelling" at the pilots... ie: WTF are you guys doing !!! :D

Ex Gulf Air cabin crew here!! Thanks for making this video...as crew we have seen the sea and island 1000s of times coming home to Bahrain after days of flying and work...but they didn't have the race track when I left...so yay, thanks for this awesome video...

Man those guys are legends. To be able to pull that off at that angle, speed and altitude? Incredible. Steep enough angle that it trips the "bank angle" warning.
What a way to start the F1 season though.

Now THAT is some cool stuff and connections there!! Laughed at all the alarms going off in the cockpit during that 500 ft banked turn. Every sensor on the plane yelling at the pilot.
Wow! What an honor to be given the privilege to fly on this plane for the trial run for this event. That had to be an awesome feeling to experience in a commercial jet that you would never want to experience if you fly on a commercial airline because in that case it would not be good thing whatsoever. That was really cool, Mike. Thanks again for taking us along on your incredible journey. Hats off to these three talented pilots.

0:34 Downie... That's an Airbus A320. Its almost the exact opposite of an 787. The only 787 in that shot is the outer right wing of the one that you are sitting in, lol. Glad you had that opportunity. I'm on the fence about F1 this year, high chance its going to be a repeat of last season, so I might follow my NYYankees & Mets this year.

I like that everything at that circuit is somehow compact yet open. All the seating and team buildings are all in the same place but nothing feels crowded. Defo gives a unique view from the air.
