  • I'm back at that grind!! Trying to be a minimalist when it goes against your very nature can be very difficult - I should know because that is what I'm doing. I was freaking out over having to pack for a two week trip in a carry-on, but my friend told me I had to take the challenge and make it happen. So I decided if I was going to do it that I would need some help. After a little research, I found 9 tips to help stop overpacking and pack more like a minimalist. Watch the video to see if they worked!
    Tips:
    1. Fix your mindset
    2. Book with a carry-on only
    3. Put everything in front of you
    4. Make sure your clothes can combine into at least two outfits
    5. Focus on multifunctional clothing
    6. Compartmentalize what you are bringing
    7. Be brutal and pair back
    8. Bring solid toiletries where possible
    9. Wear your biggest items on the plane

    Planning for laundry also helps! (So that you only need a few of anything, clothes-wise). And using compression packing cubes can help with squeezing all of the clothes into a carry-on sized bag too!

    Ive literally been “training” myself to be minimal too! The second we are allowed to travel without quarantining - im booking my tickets lol
    Also, for compact travel - have you discovered Matador Gear yet? They have so many mind blowing minimal things - their full size “bath towel” is a size of a fist, and they also have very handy soap pouches that are sealed. Very compact and mold to your soap as you use it. And you can also put a WET bar of soap in, this pouch will protect it from spilling all over AND will dry the soap by next morning! True magic (cant get over it as you can see 😅)
    I just noticed you are using these metal containers, figured I would give you a hint 😁
    Oh and also, found you through your merino wool video, thank you for your efforts, was very helpful!

      I have not yet discovered Matador Gear and I definitely think that soap pouch could be helpful! Thank you so much for helping. Becoming a minimalist certainly isn’t easy :P

      Not yet! I recently packed it up and I am testing it out for a couple weeks before I give it a final a ok :) but thank you for the reminder. I should definitely make that video!

    Very great tips. It's freeing to pack less. You probably still won't wear it all!

    hello :) may I ask you please- is the Jade 38 accepted as carry-on on your flights??

      @BraggworthyAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Alejandra - It was accepted on most of my flights. There were some smaller asian airlines where I checked it because of the weight

    Great job. I probably would have brought only one dress for a trip where you didn’t have anything fancy happening. I generally find “slacks” to be more versatile than a dress if the climate is uncertain.
    Why Greg?

    • @BraggworthyAdventures
      @BraggworthyAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Greg because it is a Gregory backpack- ppl voted that they liked that name over jade(the model of backpack). You’re right I only really needed one dress, but I did wear them both (perhaps out of guilt for bringing both).

    You almost hit that poor man with your backpack! he was crapping himself! a lightweight black oversized shirt or as you call it button down would have been far better than the denim shirt as you could wear that with shorts, as a shirt dress, beach cover up, open over another top or tied up etc etc! that would be a genuine capsule wardrobe item! there is NO need to take less, just pack better and choose wisely! rolling tightly and neatly into cubes and strong ziplock bags and you would EASILY be able to fit everything in that bag! you NEVER take vaccum packing bags in a carry on as it is a terrible way to pack huge bulky items do not fit well into a carry on!

      Not always in the traditional sense (like at a gym) but I usually will go on a run or hike or something active.
