Thanks for the video in my case with my sister in law Cruz , disconnecting battery cleared the alert car still did not start. Went out bought a new key fob(which was needed all buttons were missing) still did not work. Until I switched the new battery around with the old and voila it worked. Program new key fob no other issues. Thanks again for video and the comments
@@joshuataylor7363 were you gettin severe corrosion after only a few days on the negative bat cable.. I just did some work on the car and the negative cable is corriding again..in just three days..and now the cruze is showing a anti theft no start issiue.. Im gonna find where its grounded at and clean that up.. Hopefully tha5 gets 2 birds.. You are the first one that pointed to the ground cable.. Amd with the extreme corrosion its gotta be faulty ground..thanls ilp respond after i look at it..
I got a new battery for the remote, still didnt work with the whole close door stuff. Then i disconnected the battery terminals first the negative then postive waiting 15min and then connected the terminals back positive then negative. Boom! Turned on..hope it helps someone
2014 chevy cruze. After my car is turned off my car lights and horn are going on. Antitheft message comes on dash. This killed my battery because in the middle of the night the horn and all the lights would flash. I charged the car battery . I changed the negative side battery cable. I replaced the Antitheft module. I left the battery cables unattached for 5 hours. And it still is happening. I don’t know if it’s the computer system. Something is making the Antitheft go on.
I did this and my car started and drove it home, started up this morning and got to work. Now it’s lunch time and it is doing it again. Any idea on how to fix that?
My car started doing this not too long ago!! It’s because my key fob was broken and the actual key to the car was physically out of the fob. The car assumed someone was trying to use something other than the key . So I cheaply placed my key back into my fob the best I could and my car started ! So I hope that solves that problem for you! ☺️
Hey you guys I have a quick fix to get you back on the road! I’ve tried this twice and it worked! (My key fob is broken) it’s risky but try having someone give you a jump lol I know the car heads are like alternator and electric computer whatever but hey it saves the day. It didn’t wirk at first but leave it connected for a new seconds and have them reve the engine

Yes, Is it push button start? There should be a place to put the key fob (on the Yukon it’s in the center console, with a little cubby space for it) and the car will recognize the fob there and then start

I have an easier way for you! Get inside your car and close all the doors. now press the unlock button on your key fob and open the driver side door, while the driver side door is open press the lock button down on the door itself. Now close the door and start your car 💯🙂
So whats weird about my cruze diesel, ive had the car for almost 10 months and never SEEN this light and message until AFTER I took my negative cable off for over 10 min.
I had this problem and after replacing the battery everything works fine. When starting I was getting the Anti Theft pop up, heat wouldn’t work, wipers came on, hazards went on or it needed a jump start.

I am having this same problem. I never had a key fob. Now my car has shut completely down. Windshield wipers going, heat and everything stopped working. I had to use a screwdriver to get the key out of the ignition.

Hit remote start this morning, went outside and car wasn't running.. tried starting and nothing. Got the Service Deterrent System message, engine light and lock light stay on. Tried my other key, same thing. Tried easy reset as shown on Google, nothing. Then battery completely drained/ died..Charged battery with jumper cables and Did hard reset with battery cables, nothing. Won't start, same messages and lights

This trick worked to start the car but my remote unlock doesn't work and no matter what key I use to manually unlock the car the alarm starts going off until I put the key into the ignition.
Yesterday my "better half" accidentally pulled on the passenger door lock button when it popped up. This enabled the alarm system to disable the car. I used my onstar on my cell phone to reset to get the vehicle started. The Theft warning stayed on my dashboard screen. I talked to a rep on the onstar and they told me I have to take it back to the dealer to have it reset. I hope that I wouldn't have to pay for service on this item. The car is out of the bumper to bumper warranty, and I cannot afford to pay for this!
How much did you have to pay? My "better half" accidentally broke the Unlock button a day after I took apart my replacement key and swapped it into a fob I bought on Amazon 😭 i was supposed to get it cut and program it that day. Now this pops up and I read the only way to stop the alarm is to press the UNLOCK BUTTON
How to fix it? Cause I stick my key in the door to open and this sound goes off then next thing the car goes off. And then I’ll have to put the key in the ignition and turn on the car for it to stop.
This happen to me and all you have to do is ha e your spare key and it will start no problem... Then try what he suggest in thos video to reset the Antitheft computer.
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage my son had the car it didnt atart they tried jumping it n had sparks after that it said security deterrent on it everything turned on but wouldnt start. We got it started got it home then it didnt start again so its kind of frustrating
The reason this happens is usually a frayed or bad "NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE" - It throws the car in theft mode,. Because the connection is connecting/disconnecting/connecting/disconnecting as you drive the car. Might even happen and you'll loose steering. And power to car. It's a huge Cruze issue. At least in 2013 +

you bought another car battery to fix it? why would a new car battery fix it?
@@skaterjoepo If the old battery were going bad it could start the PCM throwing strange codes
The cause of this is a bad connection with the negative cable. Will through theft code.

so your key was literally falling out of the fob and it noticed that?
@@joelthepizzawizard493 yes, if the key is removed or otherwise separated from the fob, the car detects it and the ignition is locked.
How does the car know the key is out of the FOB there are no connections to from the key to FOB itself

What fuse controls it I’m legit taking it out this only fixes it temporarily if your Cruze thinks it’s always being stolen

Did you unplug the battery and wait for a few minutes? (Also honk the horn to discharge the battery current when disconnected).
You need a battery. Once you purchase a new battery the issue should cease.

It worked, by chance I had vise grip in my car, those things always happen at the mall.
That really did now stop that message but more you have cleared the memory in everything

facts i got my keys stuck in the washer and I’m having the same problem

I will have to try this. All i did was pop the trunk wipe off the connectors to the battery and started it up. See if it doesn't happen again.

If it still isnt working for some of you. Take the battery out of the key fob and boom
